Sinopsis

Welcome to the Gateway Church Podcast! We want to give you every opportunity to see that God loves you and has a plan for your life. Its our desire that you know God personally, and we would love to help you develop that relationshipone step at a time.As a growing and expanding spiritual community committed to helping people take a step in the right direction towards reaching their ultimate redemptive potential and purpose, we want to introduce people to God and help them develop a personal relationship with Him through His Son Jesus Christ. We desire to reach people with the message that God loves them and that a relationship with Him will transform their lives, enabling them to develop healthy, nurturing relationships with others. We continually endeavour to do this in ways that are both culturally relevant and spiritually dynamic.

  • The Other Side 1: What Happens When I Die?

    19/04/2020

During the present health crisis, we’ve all been thinking about different things than we normally do. Things like, “Will there be toilet paper at the store? How long will I need to wait in line today?” Or maybe, “Will I stay free of this virus? Will my family and friends be safe?” For you it might be, “Will I lose my job? Will I lose even more than that?” Many of us may be wondering about even deeper questions like: What does all this mean? Are we in the end times? What happens when I die? Is this life all there is? Is there life after death? Is there a heaven or hell? How do I get to heaven? What’s on “the other side”? We are Gateway Church, and we invite you to join us online for a livestream experience every Sunday morning through to the end of May. We’re going to have an honest look at these questions and more. Together we will wonder about, ask about and talk about “the other side”.

  • Jesus Is 2: Healer

    05/04/2020

There’s been so much change lately. Lineups at the grocery stores, business closures, job losses, social distancing, a school year in jeopardy, uncertainty, and some fear about the future. We’re coming up to Easter. It’s the time when many remember a message of hope, that God loves us, and that Jesus came to bring us to Him. Maybe you could use some hope right now. In the midst of uncertainty, He speaks truth… Jesus is teacher. In the midst of sickness, He heals and restores… Jesus is healer. In the midst of helplessness, He gave Himself up for our sins… Jesus is redeemer. In the midst of hopelessness and death, He conquered death forever! Jesus is King! Maybe you could use some truth, some healing, some change, some life!

  • Get to the Root of It 4: Gifts

    15/03/2020

If you’ve ever tried to dig near a large tree, you’ve inevitably discovered how widespread the roots of that tree can be. And if you’ve ever tried to uproot a tree, that’s when you really know how strong and significant the roots are. If you want to really know what a tree is like, you need to get to the root of it. When you have a problem, a challenge, a difficulty, if you want to figure it out, solve it or fix it, you need to get to the root of it. Getting to the root helps us know the heart of the issue, what really matters, the cause, the reason, the why behind it. And it’s not about determining it but discovering it. So how about life? Who should I listen to about the important things of life? How can I produce the fruit of a significant life? How can I be empowered to live this kind of life? How can I use whatever gifts I have to help others live this kind of life?

  • Significant Sunday 1: We Love Family

    16/02/2020

Family. What comes to your mind when I say “family”? For some, family is the most amazing thing ever – love, warmth, closeness and security. For some, it may be coldness, conflict, instability and even animosity. Regardless of what our own family is like, we all need family, we all want family, we all love family. That’s why everyone seeks out family wherever they can find it. At Gateway Church we believe in family. We want to be family to those who need it. And we want everyone to experience family the way it was meant to be.

  • All In 3: Include

    10/02/2020

We’ve all heard those stories. A kid grows up in a rough part of town, gets in with the wrong crowd, and has a bleak future. But someone – a teacher, a pastor, a community leader – invests in him, and he gets on the right path and pursues a meaningful life. A family moves into town where the mom starts a new job, and she struggles to juggle life and work. But someone – a co-worker, a supervisor, a new acquaintance – invites her family to an event, and she starts making friends and experiencing balance in her life. A student comes to university, feels isolated and struggles with his studies. But someone – a professor, a fellow student, a friend – includes him in their life, and he is now connected and thriving. Maybe you need to be invested in, invited, included.

  • Like Jesus 3: The Declaration

    19/01/2020

It’s a new year! This is the time of the year when we make new year’s resolutions, or at least decide we’re going to do something new or something different. Or maybe we want to change something about ourselves – our health, our time, our finances, our activities, our life goals. The main difference between those who actually do it and those who don’t is whether they are ALL IN. And yet it seems like no matter how good our intentions are or how hard we try, we’re not sure how to be “all in”. Before we get there, we need some preparation. To really be “all in” requires commitment – really dedicating yourself to your purpose. It requires clarification – being tested in order to sharpen your focus. And it requires calling – to know why you are here and what your mission is.

  • Advent Promises 4: God is With Us

    24/12/2019

Promises. We’ve heard a lot of promises. People saying they will do something, and then we wait and see if they actually will. Promises made are not the same as promises kept. Christmas is a time when we hear a lot of promises. “I promise I won’t fight with your side of the family this year. I promise I won’t work right through the holidays. I promise I will do what I promised I would do!” Today more than ever we need to know that promises will not just be made, but that they will be kept. Here are a few promises for the Advent season: God loves you. Even when you’re not sure He does. God can be trusted. Even when your trust has been broken. God has a plan. Even when it seems like everything is out of control. God is with us. Even when it seems He is far away.
