The Burrowing Burglars
31/03/2019 Duración: 20minOn the morning of June 9th, 1986, employees at Hollywood's First Interstate Bank showed up for work, preparing for the long week ahead. However, they would discover that the bank's vault had been looted - not only of $172,000 cash, but dozens of security deposit boxes. Whoever the culprits had been, they had burrowed through 100 feet of soil from a nearby sewer drain, and had drilled their way into the bank vault. Miraculously, they had done this without attracting any attention. More than a year would pass with no activity from these bandits, until they struck again a little over a year later, in the same region. Then, they would come close to pulling off what investigator called the "crime of the century." However, to this day, they remain complete enigmas.Written, hosted, and produced by Micheal WhelanLearn more about this podcast at http://unresolved.me/ If you would like to support this podcast and others, consider heading to https://www.patreon.com/unresolvedpod to become a PatronMusic CreditsMystery Ma

The Daytona Beach Killer
24/03/2019 Duración: 52minBetween December of 2005 and December of 2007, a serial killer terrorized sex workers in Daytona Beach, Florida. 45-year old LaQuetta Gunther was the first to be targeted, falling prey to this unknown individual on Christmas Eve 2005. 34-year old Julie Green would follow just a few weeks later - on January 13th, 2006 - and the killer would strike again a month later: killing 35-year old Iwana Patton at some point in February. Nearly two years would pass, in which the Daytona Beach Police Department urgently tried to find the killer. Unfortunately, he would surface once more in December of 2007 to murder 30-year old Stacey Gage, before disappearing once and for all. Police believe that the suspect has since moved on from the region, but a cavalcade of suspects and theories continue to haunt those affected by the case... Robert Levinson
17/03/2019 Duración: 01h04minFor more than two decades, Robert Levinson served as a law enforcement agent specializing in money laundering and other financial crimes. Originally a member of the DEA, Levinson took his talents to the FBI, where he developed a reputation as a man who could develop informants like no other. In 1998, Levinson retired to chase money in the private sector, but within a decade was right back in the thick of things. Recruited by some former colleagues in the CIA, Levinson was brought in to do what he did best: make connections and harvest information. Approaching the typical age of retirement, Levinson finally had his dream job. He had virtually no rules, and could act as his own boss. However, he soon set his sights on the largest target of his professional career: a potential informant in Iran - the "black hole" of American intelligence. Unfortunately, this would prove too much of a challenge for Levinson, and he has been missing for more than a decade... Written, hosted, and produced by Micheal WhelanLearn mor

Bardstown - Revisited (Part Five: Daniel Cahoe)
03/03/2019 Duración: 29minFrom 2013 to 2016, a series of high-profile crimes shook the region of Bardstown, Kentucky. But predating all of them was a mysterious murder. Daniel Cahoe was a 34-year old father, who was known to live as a bit of a drifter. Kindhearted and simple-minded, Daniel was known for his helpful spirit and his love of the outdoors. On January 5th, 2012, Daniel's remains were found in a barn out in rural Spencer County. Police and loved ones had no idea how Daniel had gotten out there - or why he had done so - but his death has left investigators bewildered in the years since... This is the fifth episode in a new Unresolved series, Bardstown - Revisited. I originally covered some Bardstown stories back in 2016, but have yet to touch upon Daniel's story. Bardstown - Revisited (Interlude: The Mayors)

This is a brief interlude in my new Unresolved series, Bardstown - Revisited, which is taking a second look at stories I originally covered back in 2016. Bardstown - Revisited (Part Four: Tommy Ballard)
24/02/2019 Duración: 42minThrough 2015 and 2016, the region of Bardstown was marshaled behind one family as they fought to find their missing loved one: Crystal Rogers. The patriarch of this family, 54-year old Tommy Ballard, was no stranger to tragedy. He had endured the loss of a sister in his early adulthood, and had worked hard to ensure the safety and happiness of his family in the years since. In November of 2016, Tommy Ballard was just as active in the search for his daughter as ever. However, his mysterious death would spark the fourth major incident to shake Bardstown is as many years... This is the fourth part of a new Unresolved series, Bardstown - Revisited. I originally touched upon Tommy's story back in November of 2016, but have expanded upon it significantly, and have rewritten/rerecording everything.Written, hosted, and produced by Micheal WhelanLearn more about this podcast at http://unresolved.me/ If you would like to support this podcast and others, consider heading to https://www.patreon.com/unresolvedpod to beco

Bardstown - Revisited (Interlude: Sherry Ballard Barnes)
20/02/2019 Duración: 08minSeveral decades before the disappearance of Crystal Rogers, her family went through an eerily-identical tragedy. On January 19th, 1979, Sherry Ballard Barnes - Crystal's aunt - went missing. Her estranged husband would later be implicated, and charged in the deaths of both Sherry and her unborn child... This is a brief interlude in my new Unresolved series, Bardstown - Revisited, which is taking a second look at stories I originally covered back in 2016. Bardstown - Revisited (Part Three: Crystal Rogers)
17/02/2019 Duración: 01h50minOn July 3rd, 2015, Crystal Rogers was last seen by anyone. She had been planning to spend the evening with her boyfriend, Brooks Houck, and had excitingly told a friend about finally enjoying a child-free night. Crystal, a mother of five, had been dating Brooks for a few years. The two had one child together (an infant son named Eli), and even though their relationship wasn't perfect, it seemed okay from the outside looking in. When Crystal's maroon Chevy Impala was found along the Bluegrass Parkway two days later, Crystal was reporting missing. Her disappearance would spark the third major criminal investigation in as many years, and - to this day - Crystal's whereabouts remain unknown. This is the third part of a new Unresolved series, Bardstown - Revisited. I originally covered Crystal's story back in February of 2016, but have expanded upon it significantly, and have rewritten/rerecording everything.Written, hosted, and produced by Micheal WhelanLearn more about this podcast at http://unresolved.me/ If yo

Bardstown - Revisited (Interlude: Tony Satterly)
13/02/2019 Duración: 08minThrough the first half of 2014, rumors continued to proliferate the region of Bardstown. Many believed that the Bardstown Police Department was involved - somehow - in the death of Officer Jason Ellis. However, it wasn't until March of that year that these conspiracy theorists were given some fodder in the form of a disgraced former-officer. This is a brief interlude in my new Unresolved series, Bardstown - Revisited. I briefly covered Tony's story back in February of 2016, but have gone back and expanded upon, rewritten, and rerecorded everything.Written, hosted, and produced by Micheal WhelanLearn more about this podcast at http://unresolved.me/ If you would like to support this podcast and others, consider heading to https://www.patreon.com/unresolvedpod to become a PatronMusic CreditsRest You Sleeping Giant - "Moss"Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/unresolved--3266604/support.

Bardstown - Revisited (Part Two: Kathy & Samantha Netherland)
10/02/2019 Duración: 40minOn April 22nd, 2014 a mother and daughter from Bardstown, Kentucky are noticeably absent from work/school. 48-year old Kathy and 16-year old Samantha are rarely even late, so their absence is noted as being very unlike them. When family is called to check in on the two Netherland ladies, it soon becomes apparent that something is wrong. Soon, the region finds itself facing its second high-profile murder case in less than a year. This time, the targets aren't a police officer - but a special education teacher and a high school student. There is no apparent motive, but the crime seems personal...This is the second part of a new Unresolved series, Bardstown - Revisited. Daniel Shaver
03/02/2019 Duración: 56minOn the evening of January 18th, 2016, a young man named Daniel Shaver was checked into a hotel room in Mesa, Arizona. He was in-town for business, having left his wife and two daughters behind at their home in Granbury, Texas.Daniel was enjoying life, and invited two guests to his hotel room for some drinks. There, he decided to show them his pellet guns (which he used for his work at a pest removal company). Some guests saw him handling these perceived weapons through his open window, and decided to warn the front desk. This led to a 911 call, and - ultimately - an encounter with police. At the end of the evening, Daniel Shaver would be dead... while the young officer that pulled the trigger found himself facing murder charges. The Max Headroom Incident
27/01/2019 Duración: 35minOn November 22nd, 1987, Chicago's channel 9 (WGN) was briefly interrupted. During the Sunday evening news, viewers were greeted by a bizarre masked man, who came upon their screen for a little under 20 seconds before disappearing. Then, just two hours later, this masked weirdo appeared again - this time, on channel 11 (WTTW - the local PBS provider). Even though he was barely intelligible, the man held control of the station's feed for close to 90 seconds. For more than three decades now, this strange hijacking of Chicago's airwaves has remained one of the most peculiar mysteries of modern times... 20/01/2019 Duración: 38minOn February 10th, 1990, a bowling alley in Las Cruces, New Mexico was stirring. Lake City Quiet Pills
13/01/2019 Duración: 58minOn July 17th, 2009, a Reddit user named /u/2-6 announced that their friend - another Reddit user named /u/ReligionOfPeace - had passed away. This announcement was made on Reddit to very little fanfare. Other than serving as a moderator on a creepy subreddit, /u/ReligionOfPeace was known for being an old, gruff weirdo, who claimed to have a storied military history. However, over the coming months, curious web-sleuths began to dig into the history of these two Reddit accounts, and found that they were each linked to a website. This website - named Lake City Quiet Pills - had hidden messages buried in its code, which hinted at the site being much more than meets the eye...
