Matt Vest Vs His Friends

This week I had the chance to talk with two new friends, Tim and Jamie Ankeny. They tell me about their son, Carter, having Leukemia and how a community of music fans are helping them heal.

Dani and I are joined again by my wife, Megan Vest. The topics this week were all picked by Megan. She wrote them down and we picked them out of a Hello Kitty cup.The topics we cover were getting waxed, Suicide Squad, mani/pedis, foster care, Jesus saving aliens, Hell, "the love your spouse" challenge on Facebook, spiritual warfare, Instagram and Kanye West. This week Dani and I are joined by my wife, Megan Vest. It's a very laid-back episode. We spend much of the episode discussing what it means to have friendships as an adult. We also talk about Uberpool and the email leaks from the DNC. If ever there is an episode to listen to with an ice cold beer, this is that episode.

This week Dani and I are joined by my friend, Kerri Connell. We start off with Taylor Swift vs Kanye West. Dani then tells us about the hardships of socializing, Kerri tells us about being a Cub Scout den leader and I talk about learning where to draw the line with Facebook friends. We discuss what the word evangelical means, Milo Yiannopouls getting kicked off Twitter and the Republican National Convention.

This week I tell you my thoughts on the new Ghostbusters film, Richard tells us why he hates reboots and Dani shops for shoes online. We answer the question, What do you think it means when someone says "I think it's a heart issue" when talking a tragety. We also discuss a 14 year old boy that wrote a poem on white privilege and the mega church culture.

This week we talk about everyone playing Pokemon Go and how it can be harmful to you. We spend most of the episode talking about the current state of racism in America, the police shootings of Alton Sterling and Philando Castlie and the shooting of police in Dallas,Texas.We also discuss when a cop should and should not shoot, and how we can move forward from here. We don't sholve America's issues with race, but we do go beyond the memes of the issue.

In this week's epsiode I invite my friend Daniel Speak to talk to us about his book, The Problem of Evil. Dan is a philosophy professer at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. After spending a few mintues getting to know Dan, he leads Richard and I in a discusion on the problem of evil.

This week it is just Richard and I. We talk with no agenda and no planned topics. We talk about a pastor who says he doesn't mourn the victims from the Orlando shooting and that leads to Richard asking me questions about the Bible. I tell him about how I view God's word, creation, the flood and the words of Jesus. We also rant about conspiracy theroists. Join us this week and see where the conversion takes us.

Though we cover two very serious subjects in this week's episode, we do start off a little silly. Richard talks about being lead cashier, we discuss my driving and Dani tells us about buying yoga pants. We spend most of our time talking about the shooting at a gay nightclub in Florida and the Brock Turner case.

This week Richard and I are joined by my wife, Megan Vest. We start by chit-chating about the intro to the show and about the Ghostbusters remake. We discuss if your actions outside your job should effect your job. We talk about the allegations against Johnny Depp and a women who was fired from her Bank of America job for a racist Facebook post. We also talk about the shooting of a gorilla at the Cincinnati zoo and a judge that sentenced a man to attend a Baptist church for twelve weeks. So join us for some laughs and a great time.

In this episode Richard, Dani and I discuss all things X-Men. We share our thoughts on X-Men:Apocalypse, we take a X-Men movie quiz, discuss all other X-Men films and we tell you what X-Men's power we would want. If you have not seen Apocalypse or any of the other X-Men movies, don't listen. We will spoil it all.

This week both Richard and Dani couldn't make it. I am joined this week by Megan Vest (my wife) and Karen Roberts. Karen tells us about breaking her ankle, Megan says I point out her drinking to much and I fail at defending myself. We spend most of the episode answering "Is it good to compartmenalize your life?". We get to one news story. We talk about Facebook suppressing conservative news. This week's episode has many twists and turns, so hold on tight.

This week Dani thinks I hate her dress, I try to convince her I don't and Richard just repeats "Pornbugs and Muffler Men" the entire episode. We get around to discussing gender, George Zimmerman selling his gun and bartenders not being able to tell pregnant women they can't drink. It's an episode that makes you think and makes you laugh.

This week Richard takes over hosting duties so I can have a break. We answer the question of the week; "Is it true that if you don't vote, you can't complain?" Richard spends the rest of the show interviewing me. We talk politics, music, pop culture, faith and what my version of a Superman movie would look like.

This week it's all three of us! However, Richard shows up late. Richard tell us about promoting his movie at a film festival, Dani goes to SoulCycle and I get a new phone. We discuss if showing compassion can ever be problematic. We talk about a riot that happened at a Trump rally near us and New York lawmakers wanting to give police access to your phone. It's a good time with friends.

This week Richard and I have a very honest talk about a couple of heavy topics. First, we talk about a Facebook post I made about Target's stance on their bathroom policy. We also talk about a bill that the Governor of Utah signed that calls porn a public health hazard. Lastly, we talk about the passing of Prince. Even though this episode is filled with tough subjects, it's still filled with many laughs.

This week we are joined by my friend, Ruby Rivera. Richard and Ruby talk about the nothing they did this week, Dani tells us about hot yoga and I tell you about the baseball game I went to. We discuss our question of the week, "Is it true that if you don't have anything nice to say that you shouldn't say anything at all?" We talk about Bernie Sanders, the Pope and having a moral economy. We close the show talking about a mom who freaked out over a guy taking a selfie. It's a good time filled with laughs, so check it out!
