It's That Episode

Dan Gurewitch (Last Week Tonight with John Oliver) watches one of his favorite childhood TV shows, "Home Improvement." Since Seth Reiss (Late Night with Seth Meyers, Former Onion Head Writer) was last on the podcast, he wrote the definitive oral history of "Studio 60," keeping the show alive in the hearts of many. Now he's back to passionately break down the inner-workings of Studio 60, discuss being the head writer of The Onion during the paper's first ever apology, and to tell us where Matt Albie will be in ten years.

Dru Johnston (The Chris Gethard Show, UCB Theatre) introduces Craig to the local sketch show "Almost Live!" which pushed SNL back half an hour in Seattle during the 80s and 90s. Dru and Craig discuss the show that brought "Bill Nye the Science Guy" to life, talk about the worst basketball coach EVER, and freak out about the movie trailer for "Freejack."

Jen Bartels (TruTV's Friends of the People) drops by to watch "My Big Fat American Gypsy Wedding." Jen and Craig gorge themselves on tacky weddings, breakdown the best and worst of reality tv and talk about being lactose intolerant. All the while, Robin Williams is sleeping in the bedroom.

Anthony King (Broad City, Playing House) brings over an episode of "Kitchen Nightmare" featuring two crying twins who look like meatballs. Anthony tells of his visit to the restaurant featured in the episode, discusses why it's so strange to watch a grown man cry and talks about his favorite Spanish word that he learned in high school.

James Dwyer (UCB Theatre) stops by to watch the first ever episode of "Might Morphin' Power Rangers." James and Craig discuss the racism of the Black and Yellow Rangers, break down how Michael Jackson inspired 1990s morphing and figure out the origin of the word "zord."

Matt Klinman (UCB Theatre, The Onion) drops by to watch part three of the "It's That Episode" Aaron Sorkin Trilogy with "Newsroom." Matt and Craig learn the news of Osama Bin Laden's death from a stoned Jeff Daniels, Matt tells his most dangerous Four Loco experience and Craig promises to do a "Sliders" reunion on any TV show he creates.

Eddie Pepitone (The Bitter Buddha) joins Craig to watch the series finale of "All in the Family. Eddie and Craig watch while incorrectly assuming that Edith will die. Eddie tries to figure out why Carroll O'Connor did a spin-off and complains about bad New York accents.

Meryl Rowin (Illustrator, Craig's Wife) watches an episode of "Grim Tales" hosted by Rik Mayall from "Drop Dead Fred." Meryl discusses why Rumpelstiltskin is so scary, breaks down the inappropriate made-for-tv-movies she watched as a child, and avoids being a prisoner in her own home.

Henry Zebrowski (Wolf of Wall Street, Your Pretty Face is Going To Hell) drops by Craig's hotel room to watch "The Counselor" episode of Mr. Belvedere, where Wesley gets molested. Do you really need any more information than that?

Adam Newman (Comedy Central) watches "Small Wonder," a 1980s sitcom about a robotic girl created by a family man. Adam and Craig discuss how creepy the show's concept is, talk about smoking cigars like men, and go into great detail about Ernest P. Worrell, of "Ernest Goes to Camp" fame.

Jill Donnelly (UCB Theatre, The Moth) invites Craig over, makes some dinner and watches a vintage episode of "Antiques Roadshow" -- are you enticed? Jill and Craig put guns to each other's heads to find out what they should collect and debate whether or not they are sub-human.

Thomas Middleditch (HBO's Silicon Valley) is a gentleman and a dandy who chose to watch the Morgan Freeman narrated 'Through the Wormhole.' Thomas and Craig talk God, the create-tor, brain helmets and computer universes. And, of course, Matt Mira makes a cameo to drop some Turok: The Dinosaur Hunter knowledge.

Curtis Gwinn (The Walking Dead, The Leftovers) introduces Craig to "Luther" which is essentially "a peak performance NCIS." Curtis rages out about "Saving Mr. Banks," discusses the transition to writing TV drama and reminds us that asteroids could kill us at any moment.

D'Arcy Carden delves even deeper into the world of One Direction with the "Larry Stylinson" conspiracy theory, that two member of One Direction are secretly in love.

D'Arcy Carden (UCB Theatre, Terrible Babysitters) drops by to watch one of her favorite episodes of "Friends." D'Arcy gives out the Barack Hussein Obama Award for Comedic Genius, discusses her "Rachel" hairdo, and delves into her very real obsession with One Direction.

Blaine Capatch (Nerd Poker, @midnight) introduces Craig to the very shortlived Buck Henry 1970's space comedy "Quark." Blaine breaks out his unbeatable knowledge of 70's TV, talks about seeing Star Wars in the theater, and generally has a delightful conversation with Craig.

Chris Kula (Community, @midnight) drops on by to watch an episode of "House Hunters." Chris shows off his insane knowledge of the show which he acquired through years of binge watching. Chris and Craig also delve deep into the origin of #melfiselfie.
