Jesus told us to love our neighbors as ourselves, not more than ourselves. If we do not learn to love ourselves, we will struggle to love other people and to expand the circle beyond the people who are already inside so that they might experience the life-changing love of Jesus. Jesus went headfirst into situations that other people intentionally avoided. Some might even consider Jesus’ actions reckless. The Reckless Love series begins an exciting journey of having God move us from where we were in 2024 to who we can become in 2025. We cannot separate the kind of politics we have from the kind of people we are. Our politics desperately needs people who have put away anger, rage, malice, and slander.
