Written and directed by Wes Craven, A Nightmare on Elm Street is the first instalment in the A Nightmare on Elm Street franchise and our first introduction to the man of our dreams, Freddy Krueger (Robert Englund). Rob and Jason drift off back to 1985 to celebrate the 40th anniversary of this supernatural slasher film. Several Midwestern teenagers fall prey to Freddy Krueger, a disfigured midnight mangler who preys on the teenagers in their dreams – which, in turn, kills them in reality. After investigating the phenomenon, Nancy (Heather Langenkamp) begins to suspect that a dark secret kept by her and her friends’ parents may be the key to unraveling the mystery, but can Nancy and her boyfriend Glen (Johnny Depp) solve the puzzle before it’s too late?

Written and directed by Kevin Smith, The 4:30 Movie is the semi-autobiographical coming-of-age comedy film loosely based on Smith's experiences sneaking into movie theatres as a teenager and his earliest romantic endeavours. During the summer of 1986, three 16-year-old buddies spend their Saturdays sneaking into movies at the local cineplex. When one of the guys invites the girl of his dreams to see an R-rated film, all hilarity breaks loose as a self-important theatre manager and teenage rivalries interfere with his best-laid plans.

Directed bt Stephen Hopkins, Lost in Space is the science-fiction adventure film adapted from the 1966-1968 CBS television series if the same name (itself inspired by the 1812 novel The Swiss Family Robinson by Johan David Wyss). Luke and Jae get lost back in 1998 to review this theatrical reboot which stars Willian Hurt, Matt LeBlanc, Gary Oldman, and Heather Graham. The space family Robinson is on a journey to Alpha Prime in the hopes of establishing a colony there and thereby saving humanity from extinction. Their plans are foiled by the evil Dr. Smith and they find themselves curiously enough, lost in space.

Directed by Jesse V. Johnson, Accident Man is the action thriller film based on characters created by Pat Mills and Tony Skinner. Luke and Jae accidentally head back to 2018 to review this Scott Adkins starring flick which takes 'em out one mishap at a time. Mike Fallon is a seasoned hit man who is known for making his target's death look like an accident. When Fallon's girlfriend turns up dead, he goes after his old colleagues to find the one responsible.

Developed by Mattson Tomlin, Terminator Zero is the science fiction action series set in the Terminator universe created by James Cameron and Gale Anne Hurd. Luke and [co-host] check out the eight-episode Netflix series which premiered in August 2024. A warrior from a post-apocalyptic future travels to 1997 to protect an AI scientist being hunted by an unfeeling — and indestructible — cyborg.

Judgment is coming. Directed bt Pete Travis and written and produced by Alex Garland, Dredd is the science fiction action film based on thd 2000 AD comic strip Judge Dredd and the character of the same name created by John Wagner and Carlos Ezquerra. Luke and Nathan revisit this Karl Urban starring 2012 post-apocalyptic wasteland set outing. Mega City One is a vast, violent metropolis where felons rule the streets. The only law lies with cops called "judges," who act as judge, jury and executioner, and Dredd (Karl Urban) is one of the city's most feared. One day, Dredd is partnered with Cassandra (Olivia Thirlby), a rookie with powerful psychic abilities. A report of a terrible crime sends Dredd and Cassandra to a dangerous area controlled by Ma-Ma (Lena Headey), a drug lord who will stop at nothing to protect her empire.

Directed by Brian Taylor from a script he wrote with Mike Mignola and Christopher Golden, Hellboy: The Crooked Man is the superhero horror film based on the Dark Horse Comics character Hellboy, created by Mignola, which adapts The Crooked Man limited series also written by Mignola. It is the second reboot of the Hellboy film series and is the fourth live-action entry in the franchise. Hellboy (Jack Kesy) and a rookie BPRD agent (Adeline Rudolph) find themselves stranded in 1950s rural Appalachia. They soon discover a community of witches led by a local devil who has a connection to Hellboy’s past.

The world is a stage... Directed by Todd Phillips from a screenplay he co-wrote with Scott Silver, Joker: Folie à Deux is the jukebox musical psychological thriller film loosely based on DC Comics characters. It is the sequel to Joker (2019) with Joaquin Phoenix reprising his role as the Joker. Arthur Fleck (Joaquin Phoenix) has been institutionalized at Arkham and is awaiting trial for his crimes as Joker. While struggling with his dual identity, Arthur not only stumbles upon true love in Lee Quinzel (Lady Gaga) , but also finds the music that’s always been inside him.

Directed, co-written, and co-edited by Sam Raimi, Army of Darkness is the dark fantasy comedy film which serves as the third installment in the Evil Dead film series and the sequel to Evil Dead II (1987). Luke and Nathan go back to the Middle Ages (better known as 1992) alongside Bruce Campbell who is trappen in time, surrounded by evil, and low on gas. Ash (Bruce Campbell) must quest for the Necronomicon, a book of evil which can return him to his time. Unfortunately, he releases the evil trapped inside the book and unleashes an army of the dead.

Directed by Ridley Scott, Alien is the science fiction horror film based on a story by Dan O'Bannon and Ronald Shusett. Jason and Rob rewind to 1979 to review the movie that horrifically demonstrated that in space no one can hear you scream and kicked off a media franchise of films, books, video games, and toys. It may even be the film responsible for propelling the acting career of lead actress Sigourney Weaver. In deep space, the crew of the commercial starship Nostromo is awakened from their cryo-sleep capsules halfway through their journey home to investigate a distress call from an alien vessel. The terror begins when the crew encounters a nest of eggs inside the alien ship. An organism from inside an egg leaps out and attaches itself to one of the crew, causing him to fall into a coma.

Written and directed by Jon Watts, Wolfs is the action comedy film starring George Clooney and Brad Pitt. The movie is out now on Apple+. Two rival fixers (Clooney and Pitt) cross paths when they're both called in to help cover up a prominent New York official's misstep. Over one explosive night, they'll have to set aside their petty grievances and their egos to finish the job.

We're still asking what that asterisk means as we check out the first trailer for Marvel's Thunderbolts*, Teen Titans Go's Robin will be pleased as they have finally announced a Robin movie, Matchbox or Hotwheels (choose a side), and "meshaloob blursh", the Sims movie is greenlit. We have our newest (or rather oldest) Green Lantern, Velma continues to haunt us, and Robocop is back to serve the public trust, protect the innocent, and uphold the law.

Directed by S. K. Dale, Subservience is the sci-fi thriller film starring Megan Fox. Alice (Megan Fox) is a lifelike artificially intelligent android who has the ability to take care of any family and home. Looking for help with the housework, a struggling father (Michele Morrone) purchases Alice after his wife becomes sick. Alice suddenly becomes self-aware and wants everything her new family has to offer, starting with the affection of her owner – and she’ll kill to get it.

Primarily directed by Victor Fleming, The Wizard of Oz is the musical fantasy film which adapts L. Frank Baum's 1900 children's fantasy novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. Rob and Jason rewind to 1939 to celebrate the magical characters, the iconic songs, and all things Technicolor in this 85 year old MGM classic. When a tornado rips through Kansas, Dorothy (Judy Garland) and her dog, Toto, are whisked away in their house to the magical land of Oz. They follow the Yellow Brick Road toward the Emerald City to meet the Wizard, and en route they meet a Scarecrow (Ray Bolger) that needs a brain, a Tin Man (Jack Haley) missing a heart, and a Cowardly Lion (Bert Lahr) who wants courage. The wizard asks the group to bring him the broom of the Wicked Witch of the West (Margaret Hamilton) to earn his help.

Heads will roll... Directed by Tim Burton, Sleepy Hollow is the gothic supernatural horror film loosely based on Washington Irving's 1820 short story "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow". Luke and Nathan lose their heads over this 1999 adaption which stars Johnny Depp and Christina Ricci. Ichabod Crane (Depp) is sent to Sleepy Hollow to investigate the decapitations of three people; the culprit is legendary apparition The Headless Horseman.

The juice is loose! Beetlejuice is back! Directed by Tim Burton, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is the dark fantasy comedy horror film, the sequel to Beetlejuice (1988) and the second film of the Beetlejuice franchise. After an unexpected family tragedy, three generations of the Deetz family return home to Winter River. Still haunted by Beetlejuice, Lydia’s (Winona Ryder) life is turned upside down when her rebellious teenage daughter, Astrid (Jenna Ortega) discovers the mysterious model of the town in the attic and the portal to the Afterlife is accidentally opened. With trouble brewing in both realms, it’s only a matter of time until someone says Beetlejuice’s (Michael Keaton) name three times and the mischievous demon returns to unleash his very own brand of mayhem.

Developed by Tim Burton, Beetlejuice is the animated television series loosely based on the 1988 film of the same name (also directed by Tim Burton). Luke and Jason journey back to the animated realm to revisit the 4 seasons of this ABC and Fox series which ran from 1989 to 1991. Lydia Deetz and her friend Beetlejuice share adventures between both the "mortal world" and the Neitherworld, a supernatural realm inhabited by various monsters.

Directed by Rupert Sanders, The Crow is the dark superhero film – a reboot of The Crow film series, the fifth film in the franchise, and the second film (after the 1994 original) to adapt the 1989 comic book series by James O’Barr. Soulmates Eric (Bill Skarsgård) and Shelly (FKA Twigs) are brutally murdered when the demons of her dark past catch up with them. Given the chance to save his true love by sacrificing himself, Eric sets out to seek merciless revenge on their killers, traversing the worlds of the living and the dead to put the wrong things right.
