Part 4: Acts 9:26-31 When you hear the word “Love”, maybe you think of a feeling or an emotion. And that is certainly part of it, but love is much more than that, love is about action, it’s about doing something. 1 John 3:18 says: “Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth” One of the ways that we can show love and more importantly God’s love is by being encouragers. The main verse will come from Barnabus’ encouragement of Saul which helped him gain acceptance with the early Christians in Acts 9:26-31

Part 3: John 13 When you hear the word “Love”, maybe you think of a feeling or an emotion. And that is certainly part of it, but love is much more than that, love is about action, it’s about doing something. 1 John 3:18 says: “Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth” God called us to love through service. Jesus didn’t just ask us to do it, but he set the example for us. I would recommend using both the washing of the disciples’ feet in John 13 and the message of the cross as reference points for this message.

Part 2: Genesis 50:15-21 When you hear the word “Love”, maybe you think of a feeling or an emotion. And that is certainly part of it, but love is much more than that, love is about action, it’s about doing something. 1 John 3:18 says: “Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth” This sermon will focus on the power of forgiveness. When we love and forgive it has the power to transform both the forgiver and the forgiven. The main passage will come from the Old Testament story of Joseph. So, in this series we will be discovering how love gives, forgives, serves and encourages.
