Rich Ferraro presents views from a number of guests, including Nottingham football journalist George Harbey, Second Tier podcaster Justin Peach, and a guest opinion from Stoke fan Jack Oulton, comparing the situations of two sleeping giants. Plus we get perspectives from a number of Forest supporters, including YouTuber Ben Dore, Pat from The Famous Club, and Reds fans Bethany and Kate. • Sheffield Wednesday 0-0 Nottingham Forest: The 1865 Match Report

    02/05/2021 Duración: 14min

The 1865 Forest Ramble is part of the Fan Hub Network - where fans come first. Saturday saw Forest travel to Hillsborough to take on relegation-threatened Sheffield Wednesday. With plenty at stake for the hosts, it was Forest who came closets to scoring, as Lewis Grabban saw his penalty saved by Kieren Westwood in first half injury time. Wednesday created chances in the second and forced a couple of saves from Brice Samba, but in truth neither team looked like carving out big goalscoring opportunities as the match finished goalless. The point takes Wednesday's survival battle into a final day showdown against Derby County, while Forest have their last game of the season at home to Preston to look forward to.  We speak to Jamie from Sheffield Wednesday podcast Wednesday Til I Die about the match, the performances of the two sides and how Wednesday will get on their crunch clash next weekend. • Nottingham Forest 1-1 Stoke City: The 1865 Match Report

    25/04/2021 Duración: 11min

The 1865 Forest Ramble is part of the Fan Hub Network - where fans come first. The last time Forest hosted Stoke at The City Ground, the hosts saw their play-off hopes dashed by the Potters amid a dramatic evening on Trentside. This time, the match wasn't quite so eventful but Chris Hughton's side did enough to earn a draw and with it, secure Championship safety for next season. After Rabbi Matondo had put Stoke ahead in the first half, Lewis Grabban made up for an earlier miss by netting five minutes into the second period, latching on to a poor piece of defending to poke the ball home. Forest saw more of the ball and edged the game in chances created but had to settle for a point. We speak to Ben Rowley from Stoke podcast The YYY-Files about the game, the performances of Forest and Stoke, their attacking shortfalls and look at where the sides can take stock of this campaign and improve next season. • Birmingham City 1-1 Nottingham Forest: The 1865 Match Report

    22/04/2021 Duración: 13min

The 1865 Forest Ramble is part of the Fan Hub Network - where fans come first. Forest were awful. Let's just get that out of the way. If Chris Hughton was annoyed on Saturday, he was fuming last night. Lee Bowyer was also fuming as Birmingham conceded a late late penalty, coolly and ably converted by Lewis Grabban, to rescue a barely-deserved point. We hear from Tom Newton with his thoughts on the match from a Red perspective, and are joined by Matthew Elliott from the We Are Birmingham podcast with his thoughts on the penalty, the referee, and Chris Hughton's Forest. • Nottingham Forest 0-2 Huddersfield Town: The 1865 Match Report

    18/04/2021 Duración: 06min

The 1865 Forest Ramble is part of the Fan Hub Network - where fans come first. Forest made a bright start in this one, but failed to take advantage of a nervy-looking Huddersfield defence, and some of us had a feeling how things would go after that. The Reds then helped the Terriers, as James Garner's loose pass sent Aaron Rowe through on goal, and Anthony Knockaert also gave the ball away cheaply, allowing Juninho Bacuna to take a run and shot which powered past Brice Samba. Baz reports on this match, which saw Chris Hughton publicly admonish his players afterwards, warning that Forest are not yet safe from the drop. Like what you hear? • 1865 meets ... Radio Nottingham's Alex Noble and Arun Verma

    14/04/2021 Duración: 36min

The 1865 Forest Ramble is part of the Fan Hub Network - where fans come first. A special podcast, with two very special guests! We discuss the pain and torment of covering the Stoke match last season, as Forest's play-off hopes went down the toilet; we find out their favourite football songs; we have a game of Guess That Red; and we have a quickfire round which inevitably ends up with Arun expressing his love for Joao Carvalho. • Bristol City 0-0 Nottingham Forest: The 1865 Match Report

    11/04/2021 Duración: 11min

The 1865 Forest Ramble is part of the Fan Hub Network - where fans come first. It was a goalless draw, and a fairly unexciting encounter between two teams now mired in mid-table obscurity - but what a relief for Reds fans to be able to say that after looking over their shoulders all season. Alex Mighten came closest for the visitors, hitting the post in the first half, before former Reds skipper Henri Lansbury returned the favour from the other end, with Brice Samba stranded. Erm, that's about it - neither keeper had much to do, and although Forest were probably the better team, Chris Hughton was disappointed not to have inflicted an eighth straight home defeat on City. Rich Ferraro is joined by Stanley Hughes from the One Stream In Bristol podcast, to dissect the match and wallow in the misery of lockdown football - we didn't even mention the annoying swimming pool noises over the Tannoy. • Nottingham Forest 3-1 Queens Park Rangers: The 1865 Match Report

The 1865 Forest Ramble is part of the Fan Hub Network - where fans come first. Get in touch to claim your exclusive FanHub Golden Ticket - but hurry as there are only a few left! Following on from their Good Friday victory at Cardiff City, Nottingham Forest hosted Queens Park Rangers on Easter Monday and rounded off the double-header by making it maximum points from their two Easter matches. A confident, attacking display from the Reds saw them comfortably see off Mark Warburton's Rangers, with goals from Alex Mighten, Lewis Grabban and James Garner securing the victory. Mighten's recent bright displays were rewarded with his close-range finish in the first half, while Grabban bagged his fourth of the season as he rifled home a curling drive from 25 yards before Garner rounded off the win. A late consolation for the visitors couldn't take off the shine as Chris Hughton's side put in a dominant display against the in-form Hoops to move 13 points clear of the relegation zone with six games of the season remai

  • Cardiff City 0-1 Nottingham Forest: The 1865 Match Report

    02/04/2021 Duración: 10min

The 1865 Forest Ramble is part of the Fan Hub Network - where fans come first. Get in touch to claim your exclusive FanHub Golden Ticket - but hurry as there are only a few left! Forest started their Easter programme in the perfect way as they secured a hard-fought victory away at playoff-chasing Cardiff City. On a glorious sunny afternoon in South Wales, James Garner rounded off a neat team move to score the only goal of the game and earn Chris Hughton's Reds all three points. The hosts had a few opportunities in the second half but Forest battled their way to the win and move 10 points clear of the Championship's bottom three in the process. We are joined by Ben Price from the View from the Ninian podcast to discuss events at the Cardiff City Stadium; in particular what Forest did so well on the day to keep Mick McCarthy's men quiet and where this result leaves the Bluebirds in their playoff chase. • Brentford 1-1 Nottingham Forest: The 1865 Match Report

    20/03/2021 Duración: 14min

The 1865 Forest Ramble is part of the Fan Hub Network - where fans come first. Get in touch to claim your exclusive FanHub Golden Ticket - but hurry as there are only a few left! Forest faced another match against one of the Championship top six as they travelled to West London to take on Brentford. The hosts took the lead through an Ivan Toney penalty early in the first half but Forest responded by dominating possession and were rewarded for a positive display just past the hour mark, as Filip Krovinovic netted his first goal for the club, slotting home after The Bees failed to clear Gaetan Bong's cross. For Chris Hughton's men, it was a case of a point well-deserved whilst Brentford were left to rue missed opportunities. We are joined by Robin Hood from the Beesotted Pride of West London Podcast to mull over events at the Brentford Community Stadium, looking at the performance of both sides, where Brentford's promotion hopes stand after this latest result and how Forest's prospects look for the remainder

  • Nottingham Forest 0-2 Norwich City: The 1865 Match Report

    19/03/2021 Duración: 18min

The 1865 Forest Ramble is part of the Fan Hub Network - where fans come first. Get in touch to claim your exclusive FanHub Golden Ticket - but hurry as there are only a few left! Another defeat at the hands of one of the top teams in the division - well, THE top team. Norwich tore the Reds to pieces, especially in the first half, and Chris Hughton admitted that Forest just didn't get close enough to their opponents. It was probably a surprise that the scoreline stayed at 0-2 after such a bad start to the match, but Forest did have opportunities, most notably for Ryan Yates and the hapless Lewis Grabban. We are joined by Norwich fan Tyrone Bradford, dissecting not just the match but also having an in-depth chat about Chris Hughton, footballing philosophies, and the importance of long-term strategic thinking (contrasting Norwich's stability and success with the inconsistencies and stop-start nature of life at the City Ground). • Finances and Football Index failure: The 1865 Forest Ramble meets Kieran Maguire

    17/03/2021 Duración: 16min

The 1865 Forest Ramble is part of the Fan Hub Network - where fans come first. The Reds releasing their financial figures last week, and as expected there were significant losses, which was followed by the news of Football Index's demise leading to the loss of shirt sponsorship. Initial forecasts suggested that the Reds were likely to be mid-table in terms of expected losses, but with nearly £150 going out for every £100 coming in, is this sustainable? We were delighted to be joined by football finance expert Kieran Maguire to discuss wages, losses, the City Ground, and whether it is promotion or bust, especially with the effects of Coronavirus on Championship football. Thank you to Kieran for taking the time to join us. Like what you hear? • Nottingham Forest 1-1 Reading: The 1865 Match Report

    14/03/2021 Duración: 08min

The 1865 Forest Ramble is part of the Fan Hub Network - where fans come first. Forest put in a creditable performance against Reading, but once again we discovered the difference a good striker can make. After Glenn Murray forced Tom Holmes to put through his own net (OG is now the Reds' joint top scorer), Reading were able to turn up the wick in the last twenty minutes. The irrepressible Lucas Joao (probably the best striker in the division this season) caused all kinds of problems, and eventually set up Yakou Meite. Somehow Brice Samba managed to dive out of the way and Reading were back in the game. Only one team were going to win after that, so a point was probably a good result for the Reds in the end. Baz reports on the match, and is joined by Alex from the Elm Park Royals podcast to dissect the match and the prospects for both teams this season. Like what you hear? 06/03/2021 Duración: 12min

The 1865 Forest Ramble is part of the Fan Hub Network - where fans come first. Another disappointing defeat in which the Reds barely got a sight of the opposition goal, and Chris Hughton sounded downbeat afterwards. The Maradona of the Midlands gives his take on Forest's failure at Watford, and then Rich Ferraro is joined by Mike Duffy from the Voices of the Vic podcast, to get the view from the opposition; Mike is despondent about his own team, but is also surprised at how poor Forest are, particularly going forward. • Nottingham Forest 0-1 Luton Town: The 1865 Match Report

    03/03/2021 Duración: 14min

The 1865 Forest Ramble is part of the Fan Hub Network - where fans come first. A really disappointing night for the Reds, as they dominated proceedings for an hour, before the inevitable smash and grab. Forest had more than enough chances to win the match, with Anthony Knockaert once again threatening, and Simon Sluga making decent saves from Glenn Murray and James Garner, amongst others.  Chris Hughton was his usual mild-mannered self after the match, but admitted to being disappointed. We hear from our correspondent Baz, and then Rich Ferraro is joined by Luton Town fan Ryan McCole, for a discussion about chances, saves, and Luton and Forest's hopes of mid-table obscurity. • Derby County 1-1 Nottingham Forest: The 1865 Match Report

    27/02/2021 Duración: 20min

The 1865 Forest Ramble is part of the Fan Hub Network - where fans come first. Before the match many Reds fans would have taken a point, but after a dominant display, Forest were once again left to rue a lack of clear opportunities on goal. James Garner's first-half effort should have been saved by David Marshall, but after the goal the Reds were very much on top, until Colin Kazim-Richards found a second-half equaliser out of almost nowhere. After that it was frantic stuff and Derby will feel that they have the better chances, but Forest kept plugging away and retain the Brian Clough Trophy. Rich Ferraro is joined by the Maradona of the Midlands and special guests Cory and Jason from the Rams Review Podcast, to discuss the evening's big talking points. Like what you hear? • Rotherham United 0-1 Nottingham Forest: The 1865 Match Report

    24/02/2021 Duración: 16min

The 1865 Forest Ramble is part of the Fan Hub Network - where fans come first. Forest made it back-to-back wins and clean sheets as they secured all three points at Rotherham. In a scrappy game played in blustery conditions, the Reds put a shift in on their way to victory, which moves them further away from the Championship drop zone. Ryan Yates replaced James Garner in the midfield and it was he who got the crucial breakthrough midway through the second half, turning the ball home after Rotherham failed to clear. There were some questions over whether he was onside and it looked like he might have got away with one! On a night where Forest were again guilty of missing a few opportunities, Yates and Cafu provided industry in the middle of the park, while at the back Joe Worrall and Toby Figuereido were impressive as they kept the Millers at bay. Matt from The Rotherham United Podcast joins us to discuss the game and we also hear the views of Baz, as he reflects on a well-earned three points in South Yorksh

  • Nottingham Forest 1-0 Blackburn Rovers: The 1865 Match Report

    21/02/2021 Duración: 06min

The 1865 Forest Ramble is part of the Fan Hub Network - where fans come first. After a great, but pointless performance against Swansea midweek, Forest earned three points that they might not have deserved against Blackburn. In the end they were indebted to Brice Samba for saving Adam Armstrong's penalty, but it shouldn't have come to that - Samba and Knockaert didn't cover themselves in glory when they conceded the spot-kick. It's also worth noting that Forest did have more chances; Knockaert combined well with Murray and had an effort cleared off the line, the veteran striker also could have scored in the first half, and his replacement Lyle Taylor couldn't convert when Cyrus Christie's shot came back off the post. Armstrong had hit the post with a long-ranger in the first half as well, but the key intervention was Alex Mighten's deflected effort - it was a bit lucky, but if you don't shoot... Baz reports after a good three points for the Reds.
