Are you ready to get a little squidy? So, this type of show has been done in the past, just with a little bit of a different twist. But man, did this project take off and become something HUGE, or what! We are of course, sitting down, to speak about the new Netflix series, Squid Game. "The series revolves around a contest where 456 players in deep financial debt put their lives at risk to play a series of children's games for the chance to win a ₩45.6 billion[a] prize. The title of the series draws from a similarly named Korean children's game." The show revolves around a core set of about five different players, with a few ancillary bad guys. BUT, the main focus is on Seong Gi-hun, a divorced father, who has a gambling addiction. He, of course has a huge gambling debt, and this is why he ends up deciding to join the games, in hopes of winning the money, much like all of the other players. It is VERY hard to take a subject matter that would normally be outside of a specific genre, and turn it into something comedic, that is done very well! Vampires, generally, tend to be something that is stuffed into the horror genre, and doesn't normally break itself out of that genre. BUT, every once in a while, there is something that changes that! Today's topic is fun, because it looks into different scenarios that might have occurred in the MCU, had things taken just one or two steps in a different direction! There was even a comic book series that this originated from, and I think that many people have long waited for this series to come to fruition, in order to take an imaginative look at some of our favorite superheroes! We are of course, talking about the MCU series, What If....? "What If...? is an American animated anthology series created by A.C. Bradley for the streaming service Disney+, based on the Marvel Comics series of the same name. ... The series explores alternate timelines in the multiverse that show what would happen if major moments from the MCU films occurred differently." This series takes a different look at what happens if Doctor Strange takes things too far because of a broken heart, or if Black Panther was the earthling that was stolen from earth by Yondu, and of course explores the fun world of Marvel Zombies!! It's that time of the week again, where we go back in time, in order to talk about a pop culture classic!! For this week's episode, we're going back thirty five years, to the year 1986, in order to talk about the David Bowie film, from the mind's of Jim Henson & George Lucas, The Labyrinth. "Teenage Sarah (Jennifer Connelly) journeys through a maze to recover her baby brother (Toby Froud) from a goblin king (David Bowie)." Sarah accidentally gives her baby brother to the Goblin king, and needs to find her way through a labyrinth, in a certain amount of hours, in order to get her baby brother back safely! Along the way, she meets a bevy of weird/different creatures and characters. Two of which end up being close friends of hers, Hoggle & Ludo! How David Bowie was convinced to do this movie, we'll never know, but it's definitely intriguing enough, at least, to give it a watch! This is a two for one special today!! We're talking about two different subjects, since one of the topics we didn't much care for, and the other only had a few episodes out at the time!! The first subject, is a prequel to the GI Joe series. It follows the most famous ninja from the franchise, and gives us a better look into the life of Snake Eyes! For three years now, we have put together something that is unique, and super fun! Two awesome calendars have been created, with a third awesome calendar on it's way to being created right now! This episode is all about that third process. We talk some about how we chose our models, and mostly about what the process of the day was. For over a decade now, Marvel Studios has brought to you, many different superheroes. Up until this point, for the most part, a lot of these superheroes that live in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, have been pretty well known characters, being helmed by Iron Man, Thor, and Captain America. With the release of Shang Chi and the Legend of The Ten Rings, things are changing! Shang Chi is leading us down a more unfamiliar road, into a more "galactic" series of events!
