The apostle Paul reminds the Romans that God has had a plan from the very beginning. Sometimes the circumstances of life cause us to ask questions about God. Is He really in control? is He really good? Together we'll discover that in the good and the bad, the easy and the difficult, God works.

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people's sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.

The New Year offers all kinds of opportunities for a fresh start. Maybe you'll clean out a closet, pick the healthy option from the restaurant menu, and start going to the gym again (at least until February). What if instead of a standard New Year's resolution we resolved to seek God for a whole new heart? When we allow God to work on our hearts, we find that He changes our habits and behaviors as well. This January, let's go deep and see what God would say to us about real change...change that renews us from the inside out!
