  • Ep 180. New Mini Series - How to Make Your First Docuseries

    12/10/2018 Duración: 06min

In 2018, I bootstrapped the production of the first Feisworld Docuseries. It is the most challenging and rewarding project I’ve ever accomplished. Docuseries (aka episodic documentaries) share many elements in common with documentary. If you’ve been “cooking” some ideas, this series could help make it a reality. From ideation, planning to budgeting, traveling on the road, post-production, marketing, festival submissions, working with distributors, I’m going to cover many topics throughout the entire lifecycle of docuseries filmmaking. What’s also quite exciting is that I’m producing many of these mini episode in near realtime. As of October 15th 2018, we’ll be done with production/shooting of the docuseries. Starting mid October we’ll be knee-deep into post-production with an expected launch date of our first docuseries in early 2019.  --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/feisworld/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/feisworld/support

  • Ep 179. Nonstop Dan (Part 2): How You Can Travel the World on Below-Average Income

    05/10/2018 Duración: 27min

Nonstop Dan started his YouTube channel at age of 12. Since then, he continued to produce engaging content on YouTube (226K subscribers as of October 2018) and travel around the world (often in first and business class) while earning a below-average income (i.e. based on US income average as of 2018). By the way, he’s only 20 years old! Who is this guy? How does he do it? Exactly. This is why I had to invite Nonstop Dan to the podcast. This podcast is for you if you want to start traveling, or to travel more but haven’t been able to because of money, time, or a combination of both. If you believe travel is only reserved for the rich, think agin.   This podcast is also for you if you are a creator struggling to improve your content, engagement and grow your audience. On many levels, I find this part of the conversation even more compelling than world travel.   Like this episode? He was the host of a Top 50 iTunes podcast called The Art of Charm, which I had been listening for years and resulted in this first interview with Jordan. In early 2018, Jordan found himself in an unexpected situation where he had to leave the show and rebuild a new podcast from the ground up. This interview isn’t about being at the top, but how to rebuild and go back to the top. In this episode, Jordan relentlessly shared his insights on how he did this. Within months, he saw millions of downloads for his new podcast - The Jordan Harbinger Show, where he deconstructs the playbooks of the most successful people on earth and shares their strategies, perspectives, and insights with the rest of us. • Ep 173 (Mini): One Hidden Gem to Increase Podcast or Blog Engagement with ZERO Budget

    07/09/2018 Duración: 16min

When I started Feisworld Podcast in 2014, I knew very little about audio production, but I did know a thing or two about growing an audience (thanks to 12 years of working as a digital producer).  In recent conversations with other podcasters, I casually unveiled a tactic I’ve been using since the inception of Feisworld to increase my podcast awareness and engagement.  Most people have not heard of me, and I love interviewing unsung heroes, "getting the word out" isn't trivial.  I hate gimmicks, and growing downloads alone didn't appeal to me. This approach below is for those who of you who want to grow your podcast in the long run. There's no quick fix.  The one pre-requisite is that you need to have guests on the show to maximize impacts.  Alternatively, if you are a one-man show but you discuss other people and topics, I can see some methods work in the same manner. Give them a shot and please let me know your feedback below in the comments area.  What’s the one hidden gem? Simple: You need to proactively

  • Ep 170. (Mini) What They Didn't Tell You About Podcasting

    24/08/2018 Duración: 14min

When I started podcasting in October 2014, the intention was pure. I wasn't in it to make money or to expect a ton of downloads. It was easy for me to feel that way (expecting little of what would come out of my own podcast. Sorry, I didn't write this to discourage anyone).  English is my second language. I think I'm a good storyteller but I was never picked in school or at work to stand on a podium and blab my brains out.  I had a full-time job that was wearing on me. I knew I wanted to be a freelancer, or an entrepreneur. But I didn't put all my hope in podcasting and thought that was going to be my breakthrough. Why? Nobody I knew did, and most people I know (still) don't have a podcast.  Why the heck did I do it then? I wanted to "pick myself", and do something on my own, with full creative control.  I imagined my future children to want to learn something about their mom, and my friends tuning in to find out what I've been up to lately. That's it.  As you may have already found out through reading my eBo

[27:00] Do you feel there’s something special about practicing a martial art, training, group work, and your discipling at work and as a creator? [30:00] What triggered you to write about the exchange between communities? What was your experience behind that? [35:00] Your books ARE backed by science and studies, unlike all other ‘advice’ books out there that come from personal experiences. What are your thoughts on that?
