    Hour 2 of the Garden Hotline. Today's Tip of the Trowel goes to June Hutson, who did an amazing job filling in for Mike last Saturday. Then it's your lawn and garden questions! While decomposing plant matter is usually good for your lawn, you'll still want to rake up most of your leaves otherwise they may hold too much moisture and lead to fungus problems. Plus, your Leyland Cypress' are probably being overwatered if they're not doing well, especially in Missouri soil. Don't forget, sometimes your plants are just getting old and will be less resiliant. Get to planting those bulbs, now is the time but be sure they are in a well drained area. When using Turflon Ester Ultra or any other chemicals, be sure to dilute them before the first application.     Hour 2 of the Garden Hotline with Mike Miller. This hour, Tip of the Trowel goes out to KMOX Executive Producer Peggy Cohill, who retired on Thursday after 42 years at KMOX! Then it's your lawn and garden questions including Ginko trees. We learned that you can still lay sod this time of year, just prepare the soil first! Plus, it's natural for a Blue Spruce to have brown interior needles, but if all of the needles are brown trunk to tip, then cut that branch off, it's a goner. Hour 2 of 2.

Remember, Knockout Roses don't need pruned until probably around Thanksgiving.
