Five Point Move - U.s. Greco-roman Wrestling

Episode 39 presents two well-known athletes discussing a variety of recent, relevant topics. First up is Army National Team member Luke Sheridan, who details the challenges and frustrations military athletes are currently experiencing as they wait for clearance to return to action. After that, Greco "folk hero" Corey Hope goes nuclear on items ranging from age-group development and the differences between styles, to his disdain for coronavirus restrictions and the upcoming bowhunting season in Colorado. An eclectic, insightful episode full of perspectives you won't want to miss!

Episode 38 involves a number of topics that have been making the rounds recently, including how wrestling is covered in the United States, the interest in "hybrid matches", and the challenges surrounding a Senior World Championships in December. MWC founder and multi-time Cadet World Team coach Zac Dominguez then makes his first appearance on the program to discuss the measures he undertook when reopening his club earlier this summer, as well as the new USA GRIT initiative that specifically targets developmental coaches.

Episode 37 welcomes back "Wildman Sam" Sammy Jones, who in December appeared in his third straight US National final, making him one of the premier names at 60 kilograms leading up to the now-postponed Olympic Trials. Everything is on the table with Sammy, including interesting perspectives on how faith has shaped his competitive outlook, as well as what he is doing to stay ready for when wrestling gets back to "normal".

With Hall sitting on the sidelines for Episode 36, Joe Betterman hops aboard and digs into a few important topics -- such as the Olympic Trials postponement, if he is thinking about coming back, and why team duals would help get more eyeballs on Senior Greco. WBU head coach Todd Allen makes his first appearance on the show in the second segment to discuss Greco being cut from WBU, how he wound up falling in love with the style, and why the collegiate Greco model can work elsewhere. A very packed and informative episode!

Episode 35's main talking point is easy: the United States' success at the 2020 Pan-Am Olympic Qualifier. With four weights now accounted for in advance of Tokyo, co-host Dennis Hall breaks down the most important aspects to achieving the mission and wonders how the current uncertainty surrounding international competition will affect athletes training for the Olympic Trials.

The most important day of the season is almost here for US Greco athletes, as Episode 34 puts a spotlight on the Pan-Am Olympic Qualifier. Co-host Dennis Hall shares his perspective on what wrestlers should be thinking about entering the tournament, and speaks to the pressures wrestlers face when attempting to accomplish the mission. After that, Armed Forces champ Terrence Zaleski of the All-Marine Team pops on to discuss his return from a major injury and what it's like to move up a weight class during the Olympic Year.

Episode 33 offers a quick glance back at the US Nationals but is mainly focused on the Ranking Series tournament in Italy. After that, Marine National Team member Jamel Johnson makes his first appearance on the program and appraises his recent results while providing his perspective on what was one of the most violent matches in recent memory.
