“KEY” POINT: Understanding this parable is the key for unlocking all the parables (v. 13). RESPONSES FROM RECEIVING GOD’S WORD Response 1: Seed snatched … Satan steals it. Result? A false conversion that bears no fruit. (vv. 4 & 15) Response 2: Seed scorched … difficulty destroys it. Result? A false conversion that bears no fruit. (vv. 5-6 & 16-17) Response 3: Seed strangled … desire depletes it. Result? A false conversion that bears no fruit. (vv. 7 & 18-19) Response 4: Seed sprouts … God grows it. Result? A true conversion that bears much fruit. (vv. 8 & 20)

TRUTH #1: We have only one message. TAKE AWAY REMINDER: Commitment to this one message is everything. TRUTH #2: This message IS the reason we see fruit. TAKE AWAY REMINDER: Faithfulness determines blessing. TRUTH #3: We have only once source of power. TAKE AWAY REMINDER: Our power comes from an inspired text delivered under the power of the Spirit. TRUTH #4: We must always “be with Jesus” to avail ourselves of His power. TAKE AWAY REMINDER: The core way we can “be with Jesus” is to be in His Word!
