Happy New Year. it's 2025 and your favorite indie podcast is official back. The Dope Sessions Podcast is here to talk about the recent comments that Hip Hop Journalist Elliot Wilson made about rappers and entertainers taking spaces that belong to journalist. Kelvy gives his take on the comments.

When part 2 of our remembering tree episode. Kelvy spoke with two members of the Wrecking Crew. Another member of the crew wasn’t able to be on that episode. We got Mike Morgan who was not only a friend of all of us, but he was the little Brother to all of us. Mike was the baby of the crew. We wanted him on the episode so he could give his tribute to our beloved Tree. For now, this is going to be the final tribute episodes. Just for right now. We will always honor, cherish, and love everything about Tree. He was more than a friend, he was family to all of us, that’s why he was our brother. We hope that you enjoy this episode.

We continue with our tribute to Tree with another person who knew him very well. We have someone who loved him very much. Tree met Andiey the same way that Kelvy and the rest of the the crew met him, they met in church. They both loved each other and stayed connected. Check out this amazing episode.

We are saddened by the passing of our brother, our friend, our creative partner, and co-host of The Dope Sessions Podcast with Kelvy and Tree. Tremayne Rountree aka Tree passed away last week. We are all devastated and hurt by his passing. As we are praying and sending healing energy to his family and loved ones, Kelvy is doing a series that will honor his brother/friend Tree. This episode features D-Nick of The Microphone Misfitz as they talk about Tree from his friendship, his personality and what he meant to Kelvy and the podcast. We love you and miss you Tree. We hope this and the other episodes will help you understand who tree was beyond the podcast

The late sessions crew is back. This is episode 10 of one of the most dopest sections in podcasts. Kelvy, D-Nick and HarleyHustle return to talk about the mess that's going on in Hip Hop. Who created hip hop? Was it African American, some say it was Puerto Ricans, some say it was Jamaicans. Everybody has weighed in, from Lord Jamar, Tariq nasheed, KRS one, amongst others. The late sessions crew sits down and talks about all of this. While giving some history Hip Hop. One of the questions that is asked and will be talked about further in another episode is there is a difference between African American Hip Hop, and New York Hip Hop. R&B singer/producer/creative Franci$ G is a talented individual from New Orleans who resides in Vegas who not only dropped an album in 2023, but just recently dropped two new tracks. Not only is he working on a new album, but working on a joint project in a group called Men from Mars. An independent artist who we believe can be the next voice for R&B music. Kelvy and Tree get to chop it up with the multi-talented artist as they talk about his beginnings, his music, the singers he looked up to, The producers he was influenced by. They also get into a conversation about how the church especially the black church creates artists from singers to musicians.
