Sermon for the Sixth Sunday of Easter. The Scripture readings are Numbers 21:4-9; 1 Timothy 2:1-6; and John 16:23-33.Whenever you pray and ask God for something, you’re going to the right Source! You are asking your merciful, loving, generous, and kind heavenly Father for what you need and want. And He never looks down on you for it. So, pray. Prayer is your ultimate weapon and defense spiritually and physically. Your prayers spring God into action with His divine power. Be people of prayer.

Sermon for the Fifth Sunday of Easter. The Scripture readings are Isaiah 12:1-6; James 1:16-21; and John 16:5-15.Scripture teaches that singing is powerful against the devil and the demons. So, it isn’t surprising that Satan tries all sorts of tricks to keep all of us from singing. If Satan tries to get you embarrassed of your voice or ability to sing, get over it. God doesn’t care how good of a singer you are. He gave you the voice and ability you have. Sing! Sing of Jesus. Sing of His victory. Sing of His deliverance and forgiveness. Sing how His right hand and holy arm have rescued you. Sing because the battle belongs to the LORD, and He has won the victory over Satan, sin, and death. Sing and watch the devils flee.

Sermon for the Fourth Sunday of Easter. The Scripture readings are Lamentations 3:22-23; 1 John 3:1-3; and John 16:16-22.The only rescue from God’s wrath against sin is found in the very nature of God Himself. That is why there is hope throughout the book of Lamentations. The reason for this hope is that God’s steadfast love never ceases, and His mercies never – never ever – come to an end. They are new each and every morning. Great is His faithfulness (Lam. 3:22-23).Our apologies for the quality of the recording but to connectivity issues in some places.

Sermon for the Third Sunday of Easter and Confirmation Sunday. The Scripture readings are Ezekiel 34:11-16; 1 Peter 2:21-25; and John 10:11-18.Jesus is the Good Shepherd because He lays down His life for the sheep. By any reasonable standards, we wouldn’t consider a shepherd who does that ‘good.’ But Jesus knows our needs, meets them, and brings us into His flock.

Sermon for the Second Sunday of Easter. The Scripture readings are Ezekiel 37:1-14; 1 John 5:4-10; and John 20:19-31.You do not see Jesus in His resurrected flesh, but you hear the same proclamation of Jesus, “Peace be with you.” That peace is yours because Jesus Christ, true God, begotten of the Father from all eternity was crucified, died, and was buried. He is risen again to give you His peace and the forgiveness of all your sins now and for all eternity. And He speaks His blessing to you.

Sermon for the Resurrection of Our Lord. The Scripture readings are Job 19:23-27; 1 Corinthians 15:51-57; and John 20:1-18.Your risen Savior calls you by name.He will never leave you or forsake you. He died for you and has forgiven all your sin. He leads you through this life – even through your grave – to the resurrection.

Sermon for Good Friday Tenebrae Service.

Sermon for Maundy Thursday. The Scripture readings for tonight’s service are Exodus 12:1-13 and Mark 14:12-28.Instead of the Passover meal, you are to eat the bread, which Jesus says is His body, and you are to drink the cup, which Jesus says is His blood. And you do this as a remembrance of what Christ has done for you. Yes, there is remembrance in this meal, but it also delivers exactly what Christ promises it delivers. Jesus promises that in this little meal, you receive the forgiveness of your sins. And unlike the Passover meal, which was an annual thing, Jesus says to do this often in remembrance of Him (1 Cor. 11:25).

Sermon for Palm Sunday. The Scripture readings are John 12:12-19; Zechariah 9:9-12; Philippians 2:5-11; and Matthew 26:1-27:66.Jesus rides into Jerusalem and is welcomed as King. But His triumphal entry isn’t like any other king. Christ comes humble and lowly, riding on a donkey. Jesus has not come to conquer kingdoms and empires. He comes to conquer sin and your death.
