*I misspoke at the beginning. It was the morning of 9/11, not 9/12 :) Back in 2011 I made a video for a ship I was on. I've included the audio track here... --------------- Back in the day while deployed in 2011 on the Boxer Amphibious Readiness Group, @jhammer19 and I made a 9/11 tribute for the crew. We had the privilege of having a retired NYPD detective on board who gave his first-hand account of being buried in ashes from the towers. His wife was eating at the windows on the world restaurant before the terrorist attacks. The ship has so many emotional ties to the event. Hard to believe 10 more years have gone by. The same problem exists today. People taking their eyes off God and perpetuating killing, stealing, and destruction in the name of their worldview. 20 years later, things haven't changed! But there is always hope because of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We don't put our hope in anything other than the sovereign God. We are free to love and forgive as we've been forgiven/loved. #NEVERFORGET #USSG

There are 4 destructive emotions that control mankind: Brick 1: Guilt (self-directed bitterness) Brick 2: Anger (others-directed bitterness) Brick 3: Greed (world-directed bitterness) Brick 4: Jealousy (God-directed bitterness) Any harboring of bitterness toward self, others, the world, or God erects layers over the roots, and a barrier around the tree, which delays the recovery process. If the barrier is thick, it takes longer to break them down before digging up the roots. Peace with God is broken with jealousy but is restored through thanksgiving. Peace with others is broken with anger but is restored through forgiveness. Peace with the self is broken with guilt but is restored through confession. Peace with creation is broken with greed but is restored through generosity. Do you walk around with a heart full of debts? Cancel those debts and walk in Freedom!

The 5 wounds of man are Fear, Anger, Deceit, Shame, and Sadness/Loss. The Good News is there is healing in Jesus name.

The idol of approval does not respect age, race, or religion. It tells people of all ages to worship created things rather than the creator. Its subtle voice tries to convince people to fear man more than God. It distracts people from kingdom living to people pleasing. In the worst case, it leads followers of Christ to deny their faith in order to gain the approval of others.
