What if you were told that the hurt you have experienced in your life, could possibly be the best thing to ever have happened to you and those around you. It is true and can be proven with the story of Joseph (OT) in the Bible.

Reasons you do not forgive: the one who hurt you does not deserve forgiveness; the one who hurt you has not suffered enough; and lastly, to forgive them will make you feel vulnerable.v

Hostility in the mind displaces peace in the heart. Peace is a state of untroubled, undisturbed well-being; while hostility is a state of opposition, resistance, and even warfare. Which one rules your mind and heart?

Hurt is hurt; but its impact and depth are determined by the closeness of the relationship with the offender.

Being a true follower of Jesus is not just simply keeping a list of dos and don’ts—which is the attempt of legalism. Legalism says, Jesus is not enough; one also needs a series of rules, regulations, and guidelines to achieve God’s desires. Legalism turns the life of a follower of Jesus, into a life of bondage, instead of a joyful blessing.

Mysticism is the attempt to perceive and experience spiritual reality. It is the belief that one can have a direct experience with the spirit world and with God, apart from Jesus and the revelation God has given through His Word. Modern mysticism expresses itself through what today we call the New Age Movement.

A ritual is not bad in and of itself. A ritual is an established form of conducting a ceremony (Marriage, Baptism, etc). A ritual has certain words that are said and certain actions that are carried out. The Old Testament rituals (shadows) pointed to something of reality (substance). Ritualism can be excessive devotion to the rituals instead of the excessive devotion to the reality of Jesus Christ.

The best way not to be taken in by that, which is false, is to know (from facts to experience) that which is true. The false teachers in the first century taught about a four-headed monster that consisted of intellectualism, ritualism, mysticism, and legalism.
