Well friends we made it. This is our last episode of our #ConversationsWithOscar series for the season and we are finishing with what we have renamed Ford v Ford because that is basically what the movie is. If you are wondering why it is nominated for #BestPicture it's because Joy jinxed it during the #GoldenGlobes. So feel free to blame her for the snubs of #UncutGems and #TheFarewell.  Overall we didn't think the movie was bad, it was fine. We agreed that Damon and Bale are great actors and can make most things better just by being there...although we could have done without Matt Damons accent. On todays #ConversationwithOscar we are talking #JojoRabbit. Taika Waititis' satirical look at Germany during the final days of WWII surprised us. We hesitantly went into this not being fans of using Hitler as a comedic imaginary friend, but we came out glad that we saw it. To pull this off it needed a lot of passion and heart and Waititis has that in spades! Also, Crystal and Ana have not enjoyed a child performance like this since Jacob Tremblay in Room. We're just a few weeks away from Oscar Night and we are charging ahead over here with our reviews on #BestPicture nominees! Today we are talking about Martin Scorseses' latest mob epic, #TheIrishman.  I think it is worth noting that we are not necessarily the target audience for this movie, and we didn't really have too much to relate it to.  However, we do know this movie had some great performances, and Robert De Niro was robbed of a nomination. Joe Pesci is an adorable #BabyYoda looking old man, and after we woke up from a nap somewhere between the hour-and-a-half mark to two-and-a-half hour mark, we really enjoyed the last thirty minuets or so.  AND NO ONE IS ADMITTING THAT MAY OR MAY NOT HAVE PLAYED THE SIME 4 WHILE WATCHING... We're back for another year of our #ConversationswithOscar series! Oscar nominations came out yesterday, and while we're disappointed about #OscarsSoWhite again, it won't stop us from talking about the Best Picture Nominees!    We saw #Parasite a few months ago and knew that it was going to nominated. Bong Joon Ho crafted a class warfare masterpiece filled with comedy, drama, and that edge of your seat tension. It's award season baby! It also happens to be our favorite time of the year. First up on the Awards Show Circuit is the Golden Globes, hosted this year by Ricky Gervais...again. Been there, done that and didn't laugh.  While the Globes can usually be praised for rewarding the underdog and discovering new talent (like Ramy Youseff) this year the Hollywood Foreign Press were getting heat for their lack of women nominees. For the first time in a long time, the stars aligned and The Roomies were able to go see a movie TOGETHER! That's right, all three of us in the same theatre, sat down and saw Hustlers! After hearing it praised as one of the movies of the year, and Jennifer Lopez getting Oscar Buzz, we decided we had to see for ourselves if the rumors panned out...and you're going to have to listen to find out!  Also we get into some early Oscar movie talk! You didn't think we would miss an award show did you? We know we have been a little MIA recently, but OF COURSE we had to sit down and talk about the #Emmys. It was a rollercoaster of night! We did it. We finally made it. Game of Thrones has come to an end and Bran is somehow King? We watched D&D turn our favorite characters into trash, burn the Iron Throne, and put robot Bran in charge of everything. Jon's destiny was apparently to go back to where he started, Tyrion gets away with everything and Arya sails off to find what is west of Westeros. None of this matters, because SANSA STARK IS THE QUEEN IN THE NORTH.  We know you are most likely among the rest of us and didn't like this season, or had issues since season five, but this was a show that brought us all together. It was the first major "water-cooler" TV show to be this wide spread since Lost. We enjoyed being part of this community, and for the rest of time we will be dreaming up better ending for these beloved characters because they deserve better. Sorry this is a little guys (Ana…) but now you get to hear how upset we are, just like everyone else. Do you know of anybody who likes what is happening this season? I don't know of a single person. We've invested 8 years into this show, and now we just can't wait for it to be over. David and Dan are doing a lot of characters and storylines dirty, but none so much as GHOST.
