Phones! We love 'em and we love to hate 'em when it involved kids. Phones aren't going away, so learning how to navigate them in a TRUSTED way is always the goal! In this TRUSTED by your Teenager podcast episode, we chat about what to do if you don't like your teenagers friends. My goal is to give you bite sized tips for teens in under 10 minutes, and this one was under 7!  This is the first time I recorded a YouTube video right alongside this, so if you prefer to watch, you can do that here.  A few simple tips that might surprise you about what you can do if you don't like your teens friend. In this episode, I also mentioned: The TRUSTED Challenge: (you need to join this before you can join the private community, Team Trusted.) I shared that inside that space, we discuss micro details on how to become more TRUSTED and also lessons on tough teen topics such as teens & friends. Piggybacking onto the last episode, I share a few more thoughts on the contemptuous teenager, as well as responding to another message from a mom who has an irritable teenager who doesn't want to go anywhere when mom plans fun.  I always aim to be as gentle as possible, because I am not into mom shaming, and I got a little blunt here, because I love you! Got this question for my "ask me anything" i posted on Instagram this last week: "Preteen is sooooo contemtuous and sarcatics. Wanna stop the behavior before she teenages." Something I've been thinking about a lot lately, is how to help YOU really pay attention when it comes to learning skills to become trusted by your teen, so I share my thoughts here....

Just minutes after I recorded the last episode, I got a call from my son that I shared the story about him. I told him about what I have planned in the next few months, and discussed the importance of sharing stories, and he said, "What does sharing your story have to do with parenting?" I answer that question in this episode more in depth, it's a great question! The tears came out today!  I wasn't planning to share this today, but I just got back from the gym where I ran into someone (I barely know) and we talked for an hour... I walked away so benefitted from that experience, that it reminded me of how sharing our vulnerable stories has the opportunity to bless others in countelss ways, many we will never know about. I share how a friends story she shared 10 years ago stuck in my mind, and helped me bless & support my son, and I'll forever be grateful. Today is my daughter Cali's 15th birthday, and I share what we like to do for birthdays AND about getting her drivers permit with some stories of my experience with teaching my teens to drive.  Dropping 2 episodes today because the one I shared this morning was supposed to be shared yesterday (I recorded it then) and I want to share 7 episodes in 7 days on this kickoff week.  THEN when I announce that I've pulled out the podcast again, I'll have 7 quick episodes to listen to.
