A NEW movie.  At last!  Eliza Hittman's new drama Never Rarely Sometimes Always hits VOD in the wake of theater closures and is available to rent for $20. Get your paintbrushes out, we're traveling back to 18th century France this week with Céline Sciamma's Portrait of a Lady on Fire.  We discuss the highly acclaimed film, specifically how we can recommend the film to those less familiar with the genre.  We dive deep into the performances and the film's striking style.  Then, we attempt a new game called "cinema sequence" and Lee breaks out an old list counting down his top films of the 2000s (from 2009).  

Lee, our resident wine expert, takes us on a journey through Oregon, Italy and France and somehow connects the world of wine to the world of cinema!  Enjoy with your favorite tipple!

Terrence Malick has been a filmmaker we've talked a lot about but haven't reviewed one of his film's since 2011's The Tree of Life.  The reclusive director returned to a more (relative) narrative structure in 2019 with A Hidden Life, a period film set in Austria during World War II.  Now available on VOD, we look at the Malick's storied career and our thoughts (and feelings) about his unique filmmaking technique.   Then, taking a page from Cast Away, we make some hard decisions on the films we'd choose if we were stuck on a desert island.
