Israelites are about to embark across the Jordan to the land that was promised to them. They are reminded of the covenant God has with them and the 10 commandments that the Lord wants them to live by.  He warns them that they will break these commandments one day, although tragic, there is a way back to the Lord. We are reading through a section of scripture that can difficult to relate to. There is so much talk of how God wants sacrifices performed and how to become ceremonially clean in different events that could make you unclean. There is always a cost. At least in my American culture there seems to be a push for more grey area or even redefine sin, if an action does not hurt someone else... how could it be wrong? I am really not much of a detail person unless I really need to be. I have it deep down in me when it's necessary. I think there are times throughout life where we can feel insignificant.
