Sinopsis
Welcome to my daily podcast. It's all about music and creative culture in London. I talk to performers both new and established, as well as the promoters that put on shows and the people behind the venues, to paint a picture of what's happening in London's live music scene as it happens. If you like the books Please Kill Me or Meet Me In The Bathroom, then this podcast is for you.If you've got a moment, please fill in the Audience Survey: http://survey.podtrac.com/start-survey.aspx?pubid=bm_jtTd-O6Nu&ver=short

177 | The Strokes: A Personal History
22/07/2019 Duración: 39minI'm trying a new thing here too. This series of episodes will be about particular subjects and their influence on me. This is basically an excuse to post speeches and rants that have been circling in my mind for a while, but they feel too long to post on the end of an interview episode. I also hope it might help to bring fans of each artist to the podcast too, as I know I love listening to people talk about the artists that interest me, if only to find out if we love the same things about them. This isn't an encylopaedic re-telling of the story of The Strokes, there are better placest go for that (especially the book Meet Me In The Bathroom by Lizzy Goodman), but this a (hopefully coherent) look at my personal history with My Favourite Band: The Strokes. Although, if I'm honest, I can't remember when I actually started listening to them or which album came first for me. But I hope that doesn't get in the way of you enjoying this episode. Thank you for listening, let me know what you think, and I'll catch you

176 | The Monday Catch Up 22-07-19
22/07/2019 Duración: 21minI'm trying a new thing here where each week - regardless of how many episodes I have (or haven't) posted - I'll post a re-cap of what happened in the previous week and sketch out what I have planned for the coming week. I think it will be a good way to stay on top of goals and enhance the continuity of this podcast; we can all feel as though progress is happening and each episode is part of a bigger thing instead of feeling like a stand-alone event. I'll also go through the listening stats from the previous week, so you might hear your city getting a shout out if you are a particularly avid listener. Thank you for listening, let me know what you think, and I'll catch you on the next one. -- Take Care -- --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/saddestnightout/message

05/07/2019 Duración: 06minPete is one hell of a chap, which is why finding out that he might be leaving town soon was a little sad to hear.
