The egregious sin of Ham is met with a curse along with a blessing to his brother Shem which would bring hope for all those cursed under sin.

The flood was not a divine failure requiring a divine do-over. Instead, God in his mercy makes a covenant with Noah so his promises can still be fulfilled.

Peace and security can only be found in the refuge offered by Jesus.

The story of Noah and the flood and the ark is a picture of the King’s mercy amid judgment. And, of course, how much more do we see this on the cross of Calvary. God proved once and for all that he would sacrifice everything to make a people for himself to dwell with forever, even if it means sacrificing his beloved Son. The King’s mercy amid judgment.

Even amid against pervasive wickedness, God once again reveals himself as the steadfastly gracious, merciful, and faithful God.
