I hope you all are doing good, amidst an incredibly difficult week for our nation. As a people, both in our community and all across the country, the need for us to lean into the the promises and love of God is more important and vital than ever! We are in week 2 of our series, “Reframe: Focusing Our Lives On The Promises Of God”. Over the month of January, we will be looking at some the most profound and life-changing promises and teachings of God and how we can reframe our perspective on life by standing firm in and reacting through these promises. Last week, we talked about not only listening to God and His teachings, but how necessary it is for us to live out those teachings every day. This week we will dive deep into the incredibly life-altering promise and gift that there is ZERO CONDEMNATION for those who are in Christ Jesus! Alright friends, let’s jump into this!

Hello there friends and Happy New Year! We, the staff of Phos, love you all so much and truly hope you had a safe and wonderful Christmas holiday with your family and friends. We are so grateful for your all’s deep love for God, for each other, for us, and for your commitment to sharing Jesus with and serving the community. You all are a blessing and we are thankful to walk through life with you! Goodness, this has been such a challenging year for not only us as a church but for the whole world. With the loss of loved ones, isolation due to the pandemic, and social/political/economic strife, the one big thing that the whole world probably asked Santa for was THE END OF 2020! I mean seriously, have any of us ever been so happy and excited for a new year??? So many people are looking forward to and longing for the new year because it means that the ridiculous mess that has been 2020 will finally be over. And 2021 will be much better, right? I mean, as bad as 2020 was, 2021 has to be better. Guys, I so hope f

It seems this year has been full of bad news. However, we wanted to share some good news from the year with you! If you’re looking for a little hope and encouragement about 2020 and life in general.

Join us online on Christmas Eve at 3 PM for a sweet time in candlelight as we remember welcoming the Light of the world a little over 2,000 years ago.

We are in week 3 of our “Simply Christmas” series, leaning into the different aspects of the celebration of Advent. The word advent means “the arrival of a notable person, thing, or event.” And of course, we celebrate the season of advent because of the arrival of Jesus, who came to bring us hope, joy, love, and peace. Laura opened up the advent series a couple of weeks ago with the promise of Hope. Last week Julie shared with us her story of seeking and finding Joy in the midst of grief. This week, we will converge around the arrival of Love. Let’s get to it!

The Christmas Story is all about God’ gift of sending his son Jesus to the world. Jesus was the light of the world bringing restoration to the darken world. This story came though His word like Laura talked about last week- this story was a very unlikely story and not what the people of God expected.

It is easy to interpret silence as absence. However, God’s silence didn’t mean He wasn’t working, it didn’t mean He didn’t care and it didn’t mean He didn’t love His people. We know this by remembering so many prophecies fulfilled in Jesus. And now, Jesus asks us to remember His promises - which will one day be fulfilled. So, in the silence, cling to those promises with hope - hope in a future with God where purposes are revealed and promises fulfilled.

Perseverance is the goal. Not perfection. Even Paul had not achieved this yet. And this is the guy who wrote most of the New Testament and almost single-handedly spread the gospel all across the world! But Paul presses on, progresses in his faith, advancing in his knowing of Jesus, He perseveres towards the goal, the goal of walking with God and slowly becoming more and more like Him! This perseveance isn’t about being perfect for God. It is about walking with Jesus’s perfection and allowing Him to approve of us and transform us. Jesus sets us free from having to be perfect! Here are some questions to ponder this week: 1.) What are the “dogs” in your life forcing you to work for your value and worth and love in Jesus? 2.) Do you find confidence and contentment and love in knowing God? Why and how? 3.) What are your “goals” for your life? Do they line up with Jesus? If not, should they? Why? Perseverance is tough. It is very difficult. But it is worth it. Because Jesus is worthy it. And so are you. You a

Welcome to our series, “A Letter From Prison: Choosing Jesus Over Our Circumstances”. During this series we will be taking a bird’s eye view of the letter of Philippians, exploring Paul’s imprisonment, his hardships and circumstances and his example of seeking and choosing Christ inspite of his burdens. Each week during the month of November we will tackle and work through a chapter of Philippians. This week we are looking into Philippians 2, probably one of the most famous passages in the New Testament and perhaps the greatest description of who Jesus is and how we as His people are called to live!

Welcome to the start of our new series, “A Letter From Prison: Choosing Jesus Over Our Circumstances”. Today we shift our focus from God to our neighbor. Jesus tells us loving our neighbor as ourselves is of equal importance to loving God with our heart, soul, mind and strength. In fact, all of the laws and commands of God can be met by following this greatest commandment - that’s how important this is!

Loving God with all of our strength might seem easy - until we really think about what that mean. However, the reward is great. Let’s trade our temporary treasure for our forever crown.

Now more than ever, with so much unrest and divisive rhetoric in our country, the people of God need to cling to His love and seek to live it out for all our neighbors! This week we are going to examine what it means to love God with all of our soul. And to do that, we need to understand what our soul is! So first off, we are going all the way back to Genesis to understand how and why God created us in the first place!

We hope you all have had a great week! We are in the second week of our series: “The Greatest Commandment”, where we are taking a deeper look at what it means to love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength and how that can help us to love our neighbors and expand the neighborhood! Now more than ever, with so much unrest and divisive rhetoric in our country, the people of God need to cling to His love and seek to live it out for all our neighbors! This week we are going to examine what it means to love God with all of our soul. And to do that, we need to understand what our soul is! So first off, we are going all the way back to Genesis to understand how and why God created us in the first place!

For the next six weeks, we will be diving into this passages and exploring how to love God with our full selves and how that partners with loving others. This lines up with the mission of Phos - to love god, love our neighbor and to expand the neighborhood. We encourage you to keep these verses forefront in your mind as go throughout your week and wonder what it would look like for us to love God with our whole selves and to love our neighbor as Jesus has loved us. Today’s story about loving God with our hearts comes from a worship service recorded in Scripture. The passage may not look like what we imagine a worship service to be, but it is a worship service, for sure.

Here we are at the last week of our series “I AM: Who Jesus is and what He came to do”. We really hope that this deeper look into Jesus’s life and self-descriptions has been encouraging and empowering for you. Now more than ever we, the people of God, need to seek after Jesus and place Him in the center of our lives. This last statement that Jesus makes ends up being the culmination of all the “I AM” statements. Again, I would HIGHLY recommend checking out any of those other sermons that you missed. As we examine this last statement and what it means for us, please know how much we, the staff of Phos, love you all and are praying for you continually. We are here for you and are grateful for the opportunity to serve with you. More than that, know and believe that Jesus loves you!

Here we are at week 5 of our series called I AM, looking at some of Jesus’s most powerful self-descriptions to understand Him and His heart for us in a deeper sense. We as a church staff hope this leaning into Jesus has been helpful for you as we navigate grief, loss, and uncertainty in our culture and the world around us. So far, we have looked at five different “I AM” statements: “Ligth of the world”, “The Door and the Good Shepherd”, “the Way and the Truth and the Life”, and “Living Water”. I would highly encourage you to go back and check those out on our Phos Facebook page, our website, or our app, if you have missed any of them! This week we will be in John 6, looking at Jesus as “the Bread of Life”. As always there will be some extra info here that isn’t in the live sermon. We are in week 4 of our series called “I AM”, in which we are examining some of Jesus’s most well known yet mysterious statements and teachings, so that we can better know Him and help others know Him. This week we will be in John 4, looking at the very familiar story of Jesus’s conversation with a broken woman and offer of the Living Water!
