The first sermon in the "Changed" series compares the experience of the rich young ruler and Peter when they first interact with Jesus. Rob Croyle gives us a message about how Christ's resurrection is relevant for you and me today. Sermon Notes: John 20:1-18 John 11:1-44 1 Peter 1:3 John 1:29 Romans 1:4 Romans 8:34 Truths we learn about resurrection through Lazarus: 1st — Resurrection is available to everyone! 2nd — Resurrection is on Jesus’ Time. 3rd — Jesus connects with your pain. 4th — Resurrection is for now!

Rob finishes our series about growing closer to God with a sermon about how we approach corporate worship. Sermon Notes: John 4:23-24 Ecclesiastes 5:1 Isaiah 55:7-9 Deuteronomy 26:3-10 Matthew 5:23-24 Luke 18:10-14 1 Corinthians 11:23-32 Truths about Worship: Enter worship with intentionality and ready to listen. When you give an offering, remember how God saved you. Your worship includes how you treat people on your way to worship. Unless you come humbly, your expressions of worship will be meaningless.

Sermon Notes: Mark 12:38-44 Acts 5:1-4 Proverbs 25:15 Acts 3:6-7 Implications: God measures what is in your heart, not what is in your hand. In stewardship, less is more. When you have the least, your faithfulness is the most impressive. The antidote to pride is humility.

Logan continues the stewardship series with a sermon on how our perspective affects where and how we invest. Sermon Notes: Matthew 25:14-30 Proverbs 13:22 Matthew 7:3-5 Implications: Stewardship is an individual calling. No area of stewardship should be overshadowed by another. This is not a prosperity gospel. There are consequences for poor stewardship. 5. The opposite of fear is faith.

In the final week of our parable series, Jenn looks at the Parable of the Invited Guests and how this teaching calls us to be sacrificially generous. *Sermon Notes: * P’SHAT – Surface. The truth that is found on a P’shat level can be incredibly profound and profoundly applied. REMEZ – Hints. The rabbi has hidden a special treasure that is unlocked with a familiarity of the Old Testament text. DRASH – Inquire or Seek. Drash is the idea of truth hidden in story. Once a student has found the hint in the Old Testament text, they are given tools that are going to help them unlock and understand the deeper meanings of the rabbi’s teaching. It should be noted here that the Remez in a teaching is always up for debate. SOD – Secret or Mystery. Sod is connected to mystery and cannot be learned or taught. Sod is a supernatural gift from God (or we might even say the Holy Spirit).
