It is our tendency to seek to find ourselves in our possessions, our talents, our position, and our wealth. As Pastor Ryan begins chapter 2 of Colossians, we find that it is, in fact, Christ in whom all things pertaining to our identity are found. We are to continue on walking with Him in the same way that we received him, in faith.

As we close our study in Joshua we look at the final five chapters. In these last chapters we see a shadow of Christ as our Refuge, Redeemer, and Lord.

In Colossians 1:24-29, the Apostle Paul tells of the the mystery of which he became a minister: "Christ in you, the hope of glory.". Namely, that the Gentiles should be fellow partakers of the grace of God. As Pastor Ryan teaches through our text, he contrasts the effective and ineffective ways to minister to people. Paul's labor was a labor of love, both for God and for the souls of people. When we realize that reaching people is only as effective as the heart with which we reach them with, it will revolutionize our ministry. Jesus said that the world would know we were his followers by our love for one another. We must reach out because we love, not because we think we have to do it in order to be a good Christian.

In Joshua 14-19, we take a look at the dividing up of the promised land as an inheritance for the tribes of Israel.

As we continue our study through the book of Colossians, we find the Apostle Paul declaring the power and deity of Christ, in Colossians 1:19-23. Jesus is God, and He is God's only way to reconcile sinful, fallen man back to Himself. through faith in Christ and the work He accomplished through His death and resurrection, we can be presented Holy and blameless before the Father.

In Joshua 11-13, we see the Lord telling Joshua that, even though he is getting very old, there is still much work to be done. The Lord commands Joshua to take possession of the rest of the promised land. In our lives, we can fail to walk in the promises and blessings that the Lord has for us, all because of our belief in some excuse that we have made up. We'll say that we are too old, or too young, or too down, or too busy. Regardless of those things, the Lord has something for each of us, and he wants us to walk in it simply to bless us with His goodness.

In Colossians 1:9-18, Pastor Ryan teaches on the superiority of Christ. He is ruler and creator of all things, both seen and unseen. Such a position begs the question: "What position is Jesus in, in my life?"

In Joshua 10, we find Joshua having to defend the Gibeonites; those with whom Israel had been tricked into making a covenant. The Lord blesses their military endeavors to the point that He even grants Joshua's request to make the sun stand still. Because Israel was operating in faith of God's promises, they were given victory.

In Colossians 1:1-8, Pastor Ryan starts our series off with a look at who Jesus is. The Apostle Paul loved to start his letters off with a reminder of who Christ is. In Colossians, Paul is stressing the absolute preeminence of Christ. In Him we a complete.

In Joshua 9, we find Joshua making a hasty treaty with the Gibeonites based upon what he assumed to be true about them; that they were from a far off land and of no threat. After the treaty had been made, however, Joshua finds that they are in fact their neigbors. If Joshua had sought the Lord's counsel, he would have found the truth.

In the final installment of our series about the Cross, we finish up on Easter Sunday, taking a look at the Resurrection from the Cross. The resurrection is the most crucial part of our faith. Without the resurrection, we would still be dead in our sins. But thanks be to God that Christ did rise from the dead, and he now lives to make intercession for us. He is the only solution to our sin problem.

In Joshua 8, we find the children of Israel fresh off of a defeat at Ai. Their failure was caused by sin in the camp. Now that they have taken care of the sin and humbled themselves before the Lord, the Lord is going to bring about great victory at Ai for Israel.

In part three of our four part series about the Cross, Pastor Ryan takes a look at the Response to the Cross. We see that we are all called daily to respond to the work of the cross in our lives. We can either reject the crucified life, or embrace it as God's grace upon us.

As we move into part two of our four part series about the Cross, Pastor Ryan takes a look at the Result of the Cross, in which we see four things: Holiness, Eternal life, Forgiveness, and a Relationship Based Upon Grace.

In Joshua chapter 7, we find the children of Israel, fresh off of a win against the city of Jericho. Feeling good about their victory, Joshua decides to only send a few thousand men to battle against the people of Ai. What he didn't know was that a man named Achan had sinned against the Lord by taking forbidden spoils from the city of Jericho and hiding them within his tent. Achan's hidden sin cost' Israel the victory. Hidden sin in our own lives can cost us the victory. Not only us, but those who we would claim to care about most. Hidden sin is deadly.

In Joshua chapter 6, we take a look at the destruction of Jericho, and how Israel's obedience, even in the face of what seemed to be ridiculous military tactics, was rewarded with God's faithfulness to bring victory.
