Running Three Luxury Vacation Rental Villas in Palm Springs (Ep261)
12/12/2018 Duración: 29minThe desire for more and exceptional accommodation is something that many tourists long for and expect when planning their next holiday. Luxury villas and condos have long been an expense that many travellers are happy to splash out on in order to avoid the confinement of a typical 5 star hotel suite in order to have a more unique, Instagram-worthy experience. Even Airbnb has taken steps to play in this area with Beyond by Airbnb, following the acquisition of Luxury Retreats just over a year ago offering the platform's highest-end homes as well as Airbnb Plus, which includes 2,000 design-forward homes in several cities all over the world. One of the most sought after destinations for luxury travel is Palm Springs, a city in southern California best known for its hot springs, stylish hotels, golf courses and spas and of course the world famous music and arts festival Coachella. In today's episode I chat with David Crosta, the co-owner of 5 Palm Estates and Palms at Park, luxury villas that cater to the most disce

Airbnb SEO - How to Rank Higher and Drive More Bookings
05/12/2018 Duración: 01h04minWhen it comes to Airbnb, one of the most important things you can do is make sure your listing is properly optimized! It's not just about being able to achieve better rates during busy season, but can also boost your listing's visibility year-round.Getting more views is a great thing, but that's not all I'm talking about. Driving views to your listing aren't fully successful unless you're generating interest too. The booking flow of Filtering → Searching → Peacock or bookmarking → Clicking → Convert (Booking). Airbnb to Hide Guest´s Profile Pictures before Booking
01/11/2018 Duración: 01h19minAirbnb recently decided to make changes regarding the visibility of the profile pictures of their users. In the future, hosts won’t be able to see the photos until a booking has been accepted. Here’s a quote from the press release:"Moving forward, rather than displaying a potential guest’s profile photo before the booking is accepted, hosts will receive a guest’s photo in the booking process only after they’ve accepted the booking request. Airbnb does not require all guests to provide a photo. Instead, we’ll be giving hosts the option to ask their guests to provide a profile photo, which will only be presented to hosts after they accept the booking."The reason Airbnb made this change is because they don’t want hosts to reject a booking request based on the physical appearance of the guest. In particular, they don’t want hosts to discriminate based on race. I’m sure racial discrimination happens on Airbnb. In fact, I interviewed Rohan Gilkes, the founder of Innclusive, in this podcast

Advocating Friendly Short Term Rental Regulations with Megan McCrea (Ep249)
22/08/2018 Duración: 33minShort-term rental regulation and legislation is a hot topic right now. Many major cities including New York City, Miami and San Diego - to name a few - are advancing bills and legislation which further restrict short-term rental services, requiring hosts to register information and banning rentals of secondary homes. More cities are likely to follow suit in the coming weeks and months, so it is of great import that hosts are aware and seek to acquire the latest information on current and upcoming changes to regulations in your area.In some instances, legislation is too strict and is seen as unfair as it seeks to restrict the rights of homeowners and how they choose to use their property. In order to make a change and fight back, it is important to get involved and build strength in numbers by working with your local community of Airbnb hosts in order to generate a singular voice for legal operators to fight back with. Not all regulations are equal though. In some instances, they are fair and can be beneficial
