6th Regiment Royal Logistics Corps have picked up the top accolade at the Harrogate Spring Flower Show. The 'Homecoming Prayer' garden has taken the gold award in the competition at the horticultural event in North Yorkshire. Following the show, the Japanese section of the design will be painstakingly transported back to their base at Dishforth Camp. The memorial garden will be formerly opened at the end of June and will provide lasting tribute to former comrades. A former airman is preparing to run the London Marathon this weekend. Paul Cording from Harrogate aims to complete the 26 miles for a service close to his heart. BFBS presenter Chris Kaye joined soldiers from the Infantry Training Centre & the Army Foundation College on an adventure race in North Yorkshire. On a whim the Forces Breakfast host decided to take part in Adrenalin Shock on the Aske Estate in Richmond. The demanding course is run over uneven ground with rivers to negotiate and steep inclines to ascend. The route concludes with the punishing Krypton Factor assault course which includes monkey bars, rope swings, cargo nets, and balance beams. Music is playing an instrumental role in the recovery of veterans in North Yorkshire. With no prior experience, ex-service personnel in Catterick have constructed fully functioning electric guitars as part of a six-month project. The Duchess of Cornwall has paid tribute to past & present members of 100 Squadron at centenary celebrations in North Yorkshire. Her Royal Highness commended the valour of the brave pilots involved in early stealth bombing missions during the First World War.
