Work With Muslims Earns A Top Queen's Birthday Honour
19/06/2017 Duración: 03minLeaving a lasting legacy for the British Army and the British Muslim Community has earned a senior British Army officer a top accolade in this year’s Queen’s Birthday Honour list. Colonel Mike Butterwick did more to advance the integration of Muslims into the forces than any other officer in the North East of England during his time as deputy Commander of 4th Infantry Brigade based at Catterick Garrison in North Yorkshire. They’re raising money for the Felix Fund – the charity for those affected by Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD). The journey began in Edinburgh and finishes in Bielefeld, Germany. Along the way they are visiting every security-cleared EOD regiment. Chris Kaye spoke to Captain James Wadsworth just before he departed from Piave Lines in Catterick Garrison. New Treatment Hoping To End PTSD Nightmares
16/05/2017 Duración: 04minA new method for reducing the number of sleep disturbances affecting PTSD sufferers is being championed by a clinical psychologist. Therapist Justin Havens has concluded research into the technique which helps those traumatised by nightmares. In the test, participants saw improvements in their sleep and reduced symptoms of PTSD. Now, Justin wants to make this concept available to everyone, free of charge through an online animation. A crowdfunding project has been set up to get the idea off the ground. RAF Leeming School Progress to Rocket Car Final
11/05/2017 Duración: 16sService children from RAF Leeming have progressed to the national final of the “Race For The Line” Micro:Bit model rocket car competition. The primary school pupils fought off competition from students from across the north-east to secure their place in the final round of the contest. Each team had to design & build a foam rocket car to race. The models were based on the Bloodhound Super Sonic Car, which is driven by fighter pilot Andy Green and travels at over 1000mph. Chris Kaye gets reaction from the winners.

Schools from across the north-east had to design & build foam rocket cars to race as part of the national contest aimed at engaging young people with STEM subjects.
