Genesis 8 begins with these words, "But God remembered Noah." Don't we all need to be reminded that God NEVER forgets His people. Even if we have been floating in an ark for a really long time, God has not forgotten you!

As the story of the ark unfolds in Genesis 7 it's natural for there to be a lot of questions. How did all those animals fit on the ark? How were they fed and cleaned up after? How did Noah get all of them on the ark? But God didn't give us all those details. Instead we must focus on what we know -- for that is what is important to God, therefore it should be important to us.

God has been accused of being a "moral monster." Many feel like they can't reconcile the violence of the Old Testament with the message of love in the New Testament. Today Pastor Tim walks us through several passages from the Bible to answer some of these questions.

While the story of Noah and the flood is a story of judgement it's a story of compassion and sadness as well. In our study of Genesis this week we see the broken heart of God over the corruption of His creation.

It was a great day for our church as we commissioned Steve Adler as a new Elder for our church. Todd Domke introduced our service. Pastor Tim was asked by Steve to provide his commissioning charge. Finally, Steve provided a rich sermon from Psalm 23. He did a great job and we praise God for providing new Elder leadership.

Genesis 6 reveals the full extent of the corruption of the human race. And in some way the Nephilim play a role in the corruption of God's image bearers. This week we explore who the Nephilim were and why they existed.

Genesis 4 closes with a short list of the generations of Cain. Chapter 5 is only a genealogy of Seth. "He was born. He Died." -- what is there to learn from that? But Paul teaches us that ALL scripture is inspired. So let's get inspired by this genealogy!

The murder of Abel by his brother Cain is not a separate story from Adam & Eve's sin in the Garden -- it's a continuation of their sin. As we study the spread of sin into the family of Adam we should examine our own hearts for the spread of sin in our lives.

Intertwined with the punishment for the sin of Adam and Eve is a promise -- an eternal promise. We expanded our study of Genesis 3:14-24 so we can see how God will fulfill His promise to redeem creation.

Our study of Genesis continues to reveal how relevant this ancient book still is today. What is marriage? What is gender? There is absolute truth to these questions that provide reassurance to a society that is deeply confused.

This past Sunday the Elder Council of Crossing Community Church presented Steve Adler as a candidate to serve as an Elder at our church. As a part of our process at Crossing, every candidate shares their testimony before the church family. Please keep our church and Steve in prayer as he goes through this process.

It was a volatile week following the election of the 45th President of the United States. Many of us are asking how did we get to such a divisive place in our nation. Why are there people marching in our streets. The answer is as simple as it is complicated. Genesis holds the most profound look at so many of our current cultural struggles.

You hear it all the time, "I can't vote for that candidate." Or people say, "I'm voting for the lesser of two evils." How are we to decide how to vote. What guidance does the Bible give us on this matter? Consider the direction of our nation if we continue on the path we are on now. Don't vote for a candidate. Vote to stop the current direction of our nation. God does give us guidance on how to vote that way.

God proclaims His creation as "good" yet we read of a serpent that obvious is not good tempting Eve. Who is the snake and what can we learn about him. This week we pull back the curtain to see who is behind the temptation of Adam and Eve.

Genesis 1 is the cliff notes of creation. As we refer to Isaiah and Job we have the wonderful opportunity to hear God talk about the creation process!

Too often we read Genesis as book of teachable stories. But it's far more than that. It's the very foundation of our faith. From this book flows so much of what we believe and do in daily life.

Sukkot, or The Feast of Tabernacles, was instituted by God as a way of reminding Israelites in every generation of their deliverance by God from Egypt. Ari does a wonderful job of teaching us the significance of Sukkot to Christians, as this ancient holiday foreshadows the work and actions of Christ's return.

Joe Caracappa concludes our summer study of the book of Romans this week. He points out to us that Romans opens the same way it closes -- by drawing our attention to the glory of God. This is a great overview of the glory of God!

Paul continues to help his readers transition from the doctrinal beauty of the first eleven chapters of Romans to real life application -- and it all begins with how to think differently.

This morning Rob Quanstrom leads us through a study of Romans 12, the chapter that transitions from doctrine in the first eleven chapters to real life application of that doctrine in daily life.
