The Tufts Get Going! "The Great Mother Bible"
29/07/2015 Duración: 01h00s9:00 AM Eastern, "The Tufts Get Going!" host Rosanna Tufts: "The Great Mother Bible." If a Goddess woke you up at 4 in the morning and started dictating a book to you, would YOU go back to sleep? Mare Cromwell, award-winning author of "If I Gave You God's Phone Number," returns to talk about her latest, "The Great Mother Bible," and the controversy surrounding the use of the term "Bible." (Personally, I think it comes off sounding more like the Bhagavad Gita, as it is structured in the form of a dialogue.) What does the Great Mother herself have to say about this current era's awakening to the damage we've done to the planet? What hope does She give?

Why would Sandra Bland commit suicide after she had moved to Texas to take a new job and start a new life? There are many unanswered questions in this case. 7:30 am Eastern, "Morning Coffee," host Dr. Patty Fitzhugh: Grab a cuppa for your body, while Dr. Patty's inspirational messages fire-up your mind!

"In Other Words…" About Transgender and Gender Fluidity
28/07/2015 Duración: 01h00sTransgender is becoming more understood in our culture. Or at least, it's more recognized. But that's the problem, it isn't understood. I spoke with Erica Burns, a transgender female and Robert Lee, a gender-neutral person. That was a new one for me. Erica's story is one you've heard before: She always knew she was born into the wrong body. About 9 months ago, at 23, she took action ... and hormones. Robert goes by "he" because he was born into a male body, and he is comfortable with it. But it doesn't stop there. He is not a hermaphrodite. He calls himself "gender fluid." He says he is in the middle, choosing neither male nore female. This show is guaranteed to be interesting!

21/07/2015 Duración: 01h06minBlues Alley is the oldest continuously-running jazz club in the country. And it's celebrating its 50th birthday this weekend! (Go to the web site to see who's goign to be appearing for the birthday party.) There have only been four owners since 1965, and Harry Schnipper, the current owner, talks with us about the club's illustrious history. Blues Alley's fame has spread way all over the world. Every jazz great has played there. Harry talks about Dizzy (Gillespie), Wynton (Marsalis), Sara (Vaughan), etc. as though he's on a first-name-basis with them, because he was. Harry is also passionate about music education and raising the next generation of jazz artists and audiences. So, when Dizzy approached him in 1985 about starting a youth jazz orchestra, he jumped on it. Besides the club, the kids have played Wolf Trap, the Smithsonian, the White House, and more. It has graduated kids into every major music academy in the country. He recently added a summer camp to the non-profit program. 1069 Wisconsin
