Called "The Sleeping DIctionary," it is set in pre-war and pre-independance India, it tells the tale of an orphaned peasant girl as she makes her way through the world.  Her journey details the turmoil of British-ruled India and the quest for independance. It's a great story. But Sujata has always been known for her award-winning murder mysteries.  Her detective, Rei Shimura, travels to different locales to solve nurders.  She solves them in Japan - where the author lived for two years, in Hawaii, etc. Join us, and learn what a sleeping dictionary is!

  My guest this morning is a colleague.  Kathy Kitts of NeuGrowth Center for Brain Growth is another one of our Women in the Morning.  Her show, The Resiliant Brain, airs on our sister station - PWN Radio Too - Saturdays at noon.  Today, we talk about - you'll never guess - the brain!  Kathy talks about how thoughts are literally creative; that is, we create our reality with thought.   Contrary to what has been accepted belief for many years, the brain can actually grow, no matter what your age is.  New pathways can be laid down.  She talks about how movement relates to the brain.  And she'll tell us about how we may be able, some time in the future, to reverse paralysis.  We may be able to grow enough new nerves to do that.  It's exciting stuff.
