It's the time of the year that ghosts and ghouls and goblins roam free as the Comic Book Bears salute Halloween during this horrifying year! Listen in as Bill, Steve and Bryan discuss new books they are enjoying (The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys: National Anthem, Rorschach, Skulldigger and Skeleton Boy) as well as books they recommend for your Halloween reading (Cryozone, Swamp Thing Halloween Spectacular, Showcase Presents House of Mystery) and much, much more!

The Comic Book Bears Podcast returns with another episode breaking down what is happening over in Marvel's X of Swords crossover - specifically Wolverine #6, X-Force #13, Maurauders #13 and Hellions #5. Between Storm being a total badass in Wakanda and the introduction of a new, formidable adversary for Logan in the new character Solem there is a lot to chat about. Steve, Bill and Bryan get in some more comic talk spotlighting Penultimateman, Be Gay Make Comics and Hawkman. And framing the comic talk are topics and tangents galore including politics, QAnon, what Bill's dad did in the 70's, HBO's The Vow and much, much more. (Please also note that on this episode, Bryan is very, very low in the mix. We tried to fix it in the edit but it may require turning the volume up and down a few times. Sorry folks.)

This time around CBB boys Steve and Bill are thrilled to welcome to the show writer Stonie Williams! Stonie's new book, Villainous, is published Mad Cave Studios and tells the story of Matilda “Rep-Tilly” Anderson, an intern for the Heroes of the Coalition team of super-heroes. Rep-Tilly, like the rest of her fellow intern class, is paired with a more experienced superhero to hone her crime fighting skills. But the hero she is being mentored by, the strongman Showdown, and the Coalition itself are not exactly what they appear to be to the outside world. We talk to Stonie about his own history with comics, his influences, his epic beard (!) and much more! Following that Stonie joins Bill and Steve for some current comic talk with The Resistance, Hedra, Killadelphia, Thor, Spy Island and more on the spinner rack! 

Once again we are playing catch up with audio episodes from our livestreams. Mayday is a writer, illustrator and fellow podcaster and they are launching Hallows, a Patreon based webcomic Hallows - a tale of friendship, murder, revenge and supernatural powers! Mayday also discusses their other work and projects (including Butterfly, Project: Rooftop and the stunning Something Terrible!) The show is rounded out by the interviewers and interviewee discussing books they are currently enjoying including Beast Boy, King of Nowhere, Wonder Woman 84: Museum Mayhem, No Straight Lines, Boy's Club and the Feels Good Man documentary, their Woofs of the Week choices and much, much more!

It is a somewhat different Comic Book Bears Podcast this time around as there is isn't a hell of a lot of actual comic book talk but there is a hell of a lot of comic book related talk. Listen in as Bill, Steve and Bryan talk about the TV versions of The Boys and Lucifer, I Am Thinking of Ending Things, The League of Regrettable Sidekicks, Stuck Rubber Baby, Toni Tennille (!), ComiXology's free Black Panther books, many things Dune and offer a fond farewell to Diana Rigg with a discussion about how Emma Peel influenced comics.

In this new Comic Book Bears audio episode, Bryan, Bill and Steve reconvene to talk about some indie books that they have recently read. Foot Fist Frankenstein blends Tom's main childhood influences -  monsters, comic books and martial arts movies - is an action adventure revenge story, "kinda like John Wick meets the Hulk by way of Kung Fu theater." Listen in as Tom talks about the project, his influences, his adventures at conventions and much more! We are thrilled to welcome back to the show Dave Ebersole and Zan Christensen to discuss the Kickstarter campaign for Dash, a gay noir graphic novel! Dave is the writer for the collection which compiles the previously published single issues of the series along with plenty of new material which is published by Zan's LGBT-centered comics company Northwest Press! With art by Delia Gable and Vinnie Roca, Dash tells the story of private eye Dashell Malone wrapped up in a mystery with a bad boy lover, a wise-cracking Gal Friday, an ancient artifact and a shocking murder in a love letter to noir crime and classic horror pictures! Dave and Zan talk about Dash's conception and Zan also shines a light on some of the other books published by Northwest Press. We are thrilled to welcome back to the show Clifford Meth! Mister Meth is the co-publisher of Aardwolf Publishing and has been fixture in the world of comic book fandom for over 30 years! Cliff was instrumental in reaching settlements for Dave Cockrum, Gene Colan and Marv Wolfman with Marvel regarding participation for the characters and concepts they created! As a writer, his works include Comic Book Babylon and the upcoming Unsuckled! He discusses all of that, his relationships with many other creators along with an in-progress sale of books from Dave Cockrum's personal comic book collection that benefits scholarships at the Joe Kubert School! After that we find Bill, Caleb,  Steve and Bryan in the newsroom talking about DC's sudden separation from Diamond Distribution and the equally sudden departures of Ruby Rose (Batwoman) and Hartley Sawyer (The Flash) from their respective CW shows. On this latest Comic Book Bears Podcast episode the CBBears couldn't not talk about what is going on in the USA and around the world so the show starts off with Bryan, Bill, Caleb and Steve sounding off on protesting for police reform, voting and contending with COVID-19. Additionally, comic stores reopening and DC's successful Young Adult OGNs end up on the discussion table. After that we each pick our favorite reads of the week with Black (Black Mask Press), Chew and Mind MGMT (both from Image) and the upcoming Kent State: Four Dead in Ohio graphic novel (Abrams Comicarts) each getting their time in the spotlight. And as always we round the episode out with the Woofs of the Week!

The latest "Quarantina" episode of the Comic Book Bears Podcast finds the CBBoys talking about four books that are currently available for free on ComiXology. The virtual spinner rack for this episode include the first issues of Huck (Image), Vagrant Queen (Scout), The Umbrella Academy: Hotel Oblivion (Dark Horse) and The Seeds (Berger Books/Dark Horse). Apart from that there is some talk of comic shops re-opening, a lengthy MST3K/Rifftrax tangent and some tea being spilled.

This time on the Comic Book Bears Podcast, there is a whole lotta comic related news talk and we still get in some new and new-to-us books! So hit download or play and hear us talk about Ruby Rose's departure from Batwoman, HBO Max's release of the "Snyder Cut" of Justice League, Youth from ComiXology Originals, Trish Trash: Rollergirl of Mars from Papercutz and much much more. Unfortunately as we are getting used to both video and audio, there are some issues with this episode. From a technical standpoint, Caleb is really low in the mix. From a performance standpoint, Bill stammers and "um ahh"'s a lot more than usual. Still we thought there was good discussion to be had here.

Join us as Sina discusses his current Ghosted in L.A. series from Boom, the upcoming Getting It Together from Image and his work for other companies including Go-Go Power Rangers, Iceman, King Shazam, Burn The Orphanage, Jughead's Time Police, editors he has worked with and much, much more! (Trust us, it is worth listening in if just to hear how Sina got the voice for Billy Batson!) And as always Bill, Bryan and Steve giving you the funnybook talk!
