Part 7 – SERIES: Philippians – Rejoice! [My Choice] After laying out a number of principles and instructions for how the church in Philippi ought to live, Paul mentions that he is sending Epaphroditus and, later, Timothy to them. These two men serve as real life examples to the church (and to us!) of what it looks like to live the Christian life in humility, worthy of the gospel, with the mind of Christ, not grumbling or complaining, and choosing to rejoice.

Part 6 – SERIES: Philippians – Rejoice! [My Choice] Paul gives the church in Philippi instructions to work out their salvation. What does that mean? They were to live out their identity in Christ. Live like true Christians who had been saved by Jesus! In the same way, we must choose to live out our salvation day by day. Doing good works not to earn God's favor, but because he has already show us favor!

Part 5 – SERIES: Philippians – Rejoice! [My Choice] Based on his letter, it seems that Paul is noticing some cracks in the unity of the church at Philippi. Before things get ugly and division ensues, Paul encourages the church to refocus and be selfless and of the same mind. To seek and protect the unity of their church. There is no unity in a church where there is selflessness, and there is no unity in a church apart from Jesus Christ.

Part 4 – SERIES: Philippians – Rejoice! [My Choice] Paul calls the Philippians to live lives "worthy of the gospel of Christ". The good news of the gospel is that we receive this worthiness from Jesus himself. Living lives worthy of the gospel, then, is simply living out our identity in Jesus Christ. This will yield unity in the church, be an encouragement to other believers, and serve as a witness to unbelievers. Remind yourself often that your identity in Jesus (and your worthiness of the gospel) is received not achieved.

Part 3 – SERIES: Philippians – Rejoice! [My Choice] To rejoice is a choice. It's choosing to dwell on God's grace in Jesus Christ, letting it define my life. This week we see Paul letting God's grace define his life in such a way that he desires to honor Jesus in everything, making Jesus look great! As Paul says it, "For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain." Can you say the same about your life? It starts by dwelling on God's grace and letting it define your life.

Part 2 – SERIES: Philippians – Rejoice! [My Choice] Paul often chose to rejoice in the midst of hardship and pain. Paul chose to rejoice and focus on God's grace rather than his circumstances. As a result, God used Paul's circumstances to make the Gospel more widely known, and to encourage others, making them more confident in their faith and more bold in their witness. Where is your focus?

Part 1 – SERIES: Philippians – Rejoice! [My Choice] Philippians 1:1-11 We begin a new series through the New Testament book of Philippians this week. Paul is writing from prison to a church he planted a decade earlier. Paul writes no other letter with such affection and such encouragement as he does Philippians. We see how true joy is rooted in grace, and how—like Paul—we can CHOOSE to rejoice, no matter our circumstances.

Part 10 – SERIES: Discovering Your SHAPE Tom Speicher is our guest this week. Discovering your SHAPE is a great thing, but not if it just ends there. Jesus has fully completed our redemption, but he is still building and working on his Church. Are you letting him use you and your SHAPE to accomplish his mission? Or are you sitting passively on the sidelines?

Many people approach the Bible not knowing the whole story. They've heard parts of the story. They know some of the main characters: Noah, Abraham, Moses, David, Jesus. And they know some of the stories: The Flood, Parting the Red Sea, David & Goliath, Jesus Dying on a Cross. But they don't know how it all fits together. Without knowing the plotline, the storyline, of the entire Bible, it's hard to understand any of it - especially Jesus' resurrection. This week as we celebrate Jesus' resurrection, we look at it in the context of the entire story of the Bible. It's God's story, and you're part of it.

Part 9 – SERIES: Discovering Your SHAPE We finish up our series titled "Discovering Your Shape" this week by looking at a man the bible barely mentions, Shamgar. Now that you know your SHAPE, will you put it into use? If you're wondering how, follow the example of Shamgar by starting where you are, using what you have (your SHAPE!), and doing what you can.

Part 8 – SERIES: Discovering Your SHAPE God uses every one of your experiences—good and bad, pleasant and painful—to shape you into the person he desires you to be. He never wastes your experiences—good or bad—when you yield to him. Rather he'll use them to conform you into the image of Jesus for his glory, others' good, and your joy!

Part 7 – SERIES: Discovering Your SHAPE Your personal style is a unique gift from God. Sometimes referred to as your personality or your temperament, your personal style defines your behavioral needs and influences how you interact with other people and respond to life in general. Each of us is unique, but our personal style makes each of us predictable in how we react to people and situations. This week we look to help you discover your personal style, and learn how to best interact with, love, and serve those who are not like you. We also look at some people in the bible and how God wired them.

Part 6 – SERIES: Discovering Your SHAPE God has given each of us unique skills and abilities. Much like Bezalel and Oholiab in the book of Exodus, God has called us to a unique ministry task and equips us for what he calls us to do. What abilities has God given you? More importantly, how are you using them to serve him and others?

Part 5 – SERIES: Discovering Your SHAPE Your heart/passion is the God-given desire(s) of your heart to make a kingdom difference somewhere. It is given to you by God to glorify Jesus and edify others. Discovering your heart/passion will help you identify where God would have you serve, and enable you to serve with enthusiasm!

Part 4 – SERIES: Discovering Your SHAPE This week we take the time to briefly unpack and describe 16 of the primary Spiritual Gifts mentioned in 1 Corinthians 12, Romans 12, Ephesians 4, and 1 Peter 4.

Part 3 – SERIES: Discovering Your SHAPE If we want to know how to use and what to expect of Spiritual Gifts, we need to have a right understanding of the Holy Spirit who gives and empowers them. This overview of the person and work of the Holy Spirit helps set the stage for our understanding of and use of Spiritual Gifts.

They are a set of God-given and Spirit-empowered spiritual abilities given to every believer, according to God’s grace, to help them fulfill their God-given personal purpose as part of the body of Christ. We’re covering them all at once, looking at the five choices Jesus lays out for us to make in these verses – the biggest of which is, “Will I put into practice what I’ve heard and be wise? Or will I ignore it and play the fool?”
