Part 42 – SERIES: Lionman of Judah Jesus tells his followers to "ask", "seek", and knock", because those who do have a generous Father who delights to give good gifts to his children! It's said that God answers prayer in one of three ways: "yes", "no", and "ask again later." So what are some of the reasons he doesn't say "yes"? Learn to abide in the God who loves you and delights to be generous toward you.

Part 41 – SERIES: Lionman of Judah Jesus calls his people to be slow to critique others, never being judgmental or overcritical. We're still required to make judgments and correct brothers and sisters in their sin, but we should always examine our own lives first to be sure we're living lives of repentance ourselves. In all things, love should rule and motivate everything we do.

Through faith in Jesus Christ, we can experience victory over external trials and internal temptation as our faith is tested and we grow to be like Jesus.

Part 39 – SERIES: Lionman of Judah Jesus calls us to choose what's best in the way we live and order our lives. Which do you choose?

Part 37 – SERIES: Lionman of Judah After saying our righteousness must exceed that of the Scribes and Pharisees in Matthew 5:20 if we want to enter the Kingdom of Heaven, Jesus uses six examples to show how the standard of righteousness God expects from us is higher than we ever imagined.

Paul describes the Church using the metaphor of a body in 1 Corinthians 12. It's one body with many parts, all interdependent upon one another. Each member with a role to play and part to contribute in unity together for Jesus' glory, others' good, and our joy!

Part 36 – SERIES: Lionman of Judah In Matthew 5:17-20 Jesus claims to fulfill the law and prophets, but also confirms the continued authority of the law. Because of this, he demands radical obedience. This points us to gospel-centered living, but Satan often tries to distort the intentions behind obedience.

Part 35 – SERIES: Lionman of Judah Jesus makes it clear that like him, his followers are not of this world, but they are sent into it. He declares his followers to be salt and light sent into the world to be and build his kingdom.

Part 34 – SERIES: Lionman of Judah This week we begin studying what may be one of the most well-known and highly-regarded discourses in all of human history, Jesus’ “Sermon on the Mount”. Jesus teaches about God’s counter-cultural kingdom, and most specifically about what it means to live as his kingdom people. The sermon begins with eight statements of blessing known as “the Beatitudes”. Each time a follower of Jesus finds themselves on the front end of these statements, it is an opportunity to live God’s kingdom on this earth.

Part 33 – SERIES: Lionman of Judah This week we look at the events that lead up to the Sermon on the Mount as Jesus confronts what may be the biggest enemy of the gospel: legalism.

To be prodigal means to be recklessly extravagant. Many speak of the prodigal son, but the star of this parable is not the son, it's the Father. God the Father is prodigal with his kindness, love, and grace which is meant to lead us to repentance.

Part 32 – SERIES: Lionman of Judah Jesus undeniably declared himself to be God over and over again. This week we see him make multiple claims to be just like his Father, i.e. to be God. In declaring himself to be God, Jesus declares that we can go to him for life. What is keeping you from turning to Jesus himself for life?

Part 31 – SERIES: Lionman of Judah You've heard it said, "God helps those who help themselves." The problem is, God never said that! In fact, the truth of the Gospel is entirely opposite. Jesus solely helps only those who are utterly and absolutely helpless. Are you willing to respond to his grace? God's grace in Jesus is your one and only hope.

Part 30 – SERIES: Lionman of Judah The message of the gospel will always remain "new" because it must be accepted and applied in every generation. Just as new wine demands a new wineskin, the new wine of the gospel will always need new methods to reach new generations. Hear about some of the changing wineskins at Wawasee Bible. The message of Jesus Christ and his gospel will never ever change, but how we do ministry is always up for change as we seek to introduce more and more people to Jesus and his grace.

Part 29 – SERIES: Lionman of Judah Jesus calls Matthew (Levi) the tax collector to follow him. Matthew demonstrates excitement and zeal to reach his friends and introduce them to Jesus as well, throwing a party and inviting them all over for dinner. Jesus calls us to reach out to sinners like he did, and like Matthew did.

Part 28 - SERIES: Lionman of Judah In our sin we all need Jesus’ touch on our lives to heal us and make us new. We’re also responsible to do what we can to help others experience his healing and forgiveness.

Part 27 - SERIES: Lionman of Judah Up to this point Jesus has spent a year and a half or longer with these men. His relationship with them began with a call to “come and see” who he was (John 1:39). Then he called them to “follow me” and become like him (John 1:43). After about 18 months of following Jesus, these first followers demonstrate that they’re after more. And Jesus begins by calling four of them to not only “follow me”, but to “follow me and fish for men” (Mark 1:16ff). It’s a call to do something, to serve in ministry. And the ones Jesus targets for this call are those who are ”AFT’R” more. The four respond and follow Jesus throughout all of Galilee (Mark 1:39), but after a while they had made their way back to their regular profession. This week we see Jesus renew his call to them to follow him and serve in ministry.

Part 26 - SERIES: Lionman of Judah Over a year and a half into his ministry, Jesus begins a transition. This week we see him begin calling some of his followers to be trained and serve along side him. We get a glimpse into a long day with Jesus, seeing his authority over everything spiritual and everything physical, and our need to continually take time to rest and connect with God.
