Have you ever been looking forward to your favorite director's next film and then when you see it, it completely disappoints you?  Well, so have we.  Join Carlos today at GeekFest Rants as he looks at his favorite directors and pinpoints the time when they have disappointed him.  Do directors only have a number of great films in them?  Is there a predictable trajectory to the quality of their films?  Or are our fanboy expectation too high?  Plus, we'll also throw a few superstar actors to see if they suffered a similar fate.

GV kicks off episode 51 with a duet (featuring Princess Jasmine) about the whole new world of school starting back up. Then it's on to a strange visit by a creepy courier, followed by talk about friend of the network Engineer Nerd, VW Bug motors and memes, Lik M Aid, and the Thrifty drug store candy scene.

Hey kids. We are back once again. It's a shock. I know. Anyhoo.... we start off with me talking about what I've been simping about.. it's no big deal. Don't worry. From there we open up some Robocop II cards. Shout out to Gino Vega. We go card by card over the set and then complain we we get short changed on the total... Then we take a look at the IseeRobots Radio Trashbuster Of The Month and talk about the importance of keeping your town clean.. We also look at some Masters Of The Universe stuff and dig into some recent Flea Market finds.. It's a pretty good show overall... It's fine. Make sure to tell a friend!

So, we start off with some food cube related drama and then we open up a pack of A-Team Cards in search of the elusive B.A Baracus Rookie Card! Then we talk some Japanese League Baseball, take a look at some cool stuff I found at the flea market and engage in all sorts of other offbeat shenanigans! It's a great show like always. Today on GeekFest Rants Carlos will highlight two new posters.  First up is the Star Trek: The Motion Picture teaser poster by John Berkey.  Then we have a Star Wars Proctor & Gamble point of purchase poster by Ken Glodammer.  Finally we'll cover the sad news of the passing of writer J. W. Rinzler.  We'll look back at his days at Lucasfilm publishing to his most recent making-of film books.

This week on Worlds Famous we start off at the arcade where your dude plays some Ms. Pacman on a left handed machine..  From there we open up some Rocketeer Cards in search of the vaunted Jenny Blake Rookie Card..  Then we talk MOTU and open up a DC Primal Age Figure. Primal Age was so great! Why was it cancelled? So sad. Toward the end of the show we head to the flea-market and then take a look at out animal spirit guide for the week. It's a great show this week. Before the internet gave us access to Ain't It Cool News, Dark Horizons, You Tube, Collider, and Super Hero Hype, all we geeks had was print media and Starlog Magazine was the place to go.   Join Carlos and James as they recall the days when we eagerly awaited the next issue of Starlog Magazine to learn about upcoming genre projects as well as conventions and merchandise.

MTV Raps cards in search of the elusive MF. Doom Rookie Card.. Do we find it? Who knows.. Then there is some more Japanese League Baseball talk.  From there we dig into some Masters Of The Universe Figures and have another call in from Steve Balboni Bigfoot Hunter.  It's a really fun show this week. We are back from a short break and this time we are going to look at some crime thriller mysteries on TV.  We begin with The Head, a murder who-done-it with some The Thing vibes.  Then, The Fall with Gillian Anderson in another fantastic performance.  Yes this is the same Gillian Anderson from The X-Files.  Then we move on to Mare of Easttown with Kate Winslet.  A good surprise from this ex-Titanic star.  And finally we get Clarice.  The latest incarnation of the ongoing Silence of the Lambs universe.

In this episode, GV is inspired by the World Famous ISR show to talk about weird rock music trading cards he had as a kid, then its on to sharing a recent story about literalism, followed by the main event: a look at the Pickle Family Circus and its role in helping shape the Vegaverse.

Hey kids! We are back for another installment of Classic Geekfest Rants! This time around we're gonna give a listen to episode 211.  It's about Miami Vice. Let's see what Carlos had to say at the time.... Today we remember a time where a television show inspired men to wear white Italian linen suits over pastel T-shirts while wearing imported shoes with no socks.  To sport a five o'clock shadow 24/7 and to drive expensive sports cars.....well....maybe getting the cars was a little more difficult.   We are of course talking about Miami Vice, the 1984 cop show that upped the ante on the modern cop show.  For years we had different versions of gritty cops but now we had the cool cops.   From music, to fashion, to action, Don Johnson and Philip Michael Thomas became television stars and Miami Vice became the latest evolution of the American cop show.  Join us today as Carlos and James take a ride to Miami Vice.
