South Figaro Podcast

The last podcast recording was lost to the digital void, but from the ashes I emerge with a new (and hopefully improved) recording method. Stickguy joins me in this new recording experiment, as we leave Skype behind to record on Discord. We've got a bunch of anime to talk about, but first we have to gush about the newest Persona 5 footage!

For the first time in a while, we've got a full house! LockedOn returns to tell us about his first Wrestlemania experience, while I in turn talk about my first Zelda concert experience! Beeb has not yet completely hollowed during his Dark Souls adventures, but we may have to put a suicide watch on his latest Overwatch addiction. Blue Map continues to talk fighting games (and politics for some reason) and Sax has a DC story to share that's even darker and more depressing than Batman v Superman!

We are the podcasters three, here to talk about Dark Souls 3. As Beeb continues to fend off some rude skeletons, Blue Map chimes in with more fighting game linguo while I share my excitement/regret over my hefty new purchases. 

New Anime! Old Anime! Fairly Recent Anime! Non-Anime! We're hopping on our microwave-powered time machine and bouncing all over the place! Good thing I brought my ridiculously large and overpriced tablet along for the ride!

Finally, the Uncovered: Final Fantasy XV event has finally come on the final day of March to finally give us a look at the final (?) version of the game along with a finalized release date. We've got almost as many opinons as there were announcements that it took us two days and a busted internet connection to finish the talks! Fencingsax, wake up! We're not done yet! Blue Map, your fighting game lingo is confusing! Beeb, quit being so Indie-crazy! Square, tighten up that framerate! Listerners, listen in to today's recording!

It's a day before the big Final Fantasy XV event, and I couldn't think of a better way to pass the time then talking anime with Stickguy. Erased is over and done, and we've got a lot of time (hur hur) to say our final thoughts on the series while also looking over the horizon of April's notable releases.

It's been a week of awfulness, and the stench of rotten tomatoes will claim each of us one by one. Stickguy is the first to go, Sax soon follows; can Blue Map and I keep the conversation going before tiredness and Wii U batteries die out?

Donald Trump! Robocop 3! Sonic OCs! VR Murder Porn! Metroid: Other M! Sword Art Online! All the evils of the world are unleashed in today's episode, and nothing is left in its wake! Beeb, Blue Map and Fencingsax huddle together during the dark times to talk about the latest topics, from Playstation VR's release and price to Microsoft suddenly playing nice with the console competetion. You won't be able to farm your way out of this house of residing evil!

Blue Map returns after a multi-episode hiatus to get mad about things (smallpox), glad about things (Devil May Cry), and disturbed about other things (boobs). Beeb also turns his back on war-themed strategy games and takes up a pickaxe to go farming in Stardew Valley, while we continue to talk about the latest trends, tribulations, and trolling on this week's episode.

It's our final Talkin' about Turtles, as the gang bands together to take out Shredder and Krang for good. Marvel at the high quality animation (because this is the last time you're getting it), cower from the brutal rat-choking violence, hurl over the disturbing brain-on-robot's-stomach surgery, and laugh over how many times Splinter and Shredder's names get mixed up (as well as the original date of this cartoon). Time to pull out this lengthy podcast episode out of my turtle belt and show it off!

In today's episode, Beeb and I bust out the shipping charts as we talk more Fire Emblem: Fates. Fencingsax also returns from his surprisingly non-disastrous cruise ship to share thoughts on the latest Nintendo Direct. Which Metroid Baby is your favorite?

It's a really busy episode filled with big budget, often off-model animation, as the four turtle talkers discuss the recruitment campaigns of Dimension X, the questionable ages of the Neutrinos, April's steadily decaying sanity, Krang's vanity and what could have been a really cool videogame level. Is the weather forecast in your area "Total Chaos"? Bundle up and listen to our latest episode as you slowly freeze to death!

It's been so long since Stickguy and I engaged in an Anime discussion, I just had to dial my enthusiasm to 11! In this long overdue Anime Spoilercast, Stickguy updates us in his progress on One Piece, our collective enjoyment on Erased, why zombies aren't always the scariest thing in a series, and his growing collection of 3DS hardware (yes, hardware)!

It's a trademarked episode of mouse-killing robots with the fragility of dinner plates, Krang's surprisingly elastic body, New York's abandoned underground cities and the Turtles' inability to perceive three dimensions! Baxter may work for peanuts, but even he deserves a nice nap at his breezy apartment. We can only hope April was the only resident at her apartment by the time this episode is done.

It's a tightly-packed February as we list off the games we simply needed to have right-freaking now. Beeb and I shamefully confess how quickly we were sold by Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth, while I have a frank conversation with Blue Map about Street Fighter V's strategic (?) release plans, and I also talk with Shadowfire about Final Fantasy waifus (while his wife also interjects with Final Fantasy husbandos). My Fire Emblem sister can't be this cute (and psychotic), but this podcast can dial up the anime meter even higher!

A warthog and a rhino being stolen from a public zoo? Add some oddly courteous robots to the mix and you've got yourself a heck of a story! The four podcasters in a half shell reunite for another nostalgic look at TMNT as we discuss Mikey's hulk rage, Shredder's unregistered arching, and Krang's grossly detailed design. Don't give us that puppy dog look of sadness, Splinter, we still think you're cool. 

Beeb has got the alien fever, and I've got the....regular fever. Neither is keeping us from recording today's episode, as we talk new games like X-COM 2 and Nitroplus Blasterz and old games like Kingdom Hearts II. Halfway through some of our members go off to bed, and against better judgment I continue to strain my diminishing vocal chords to talk up news like the latest Final Fantasy XV footage and Peter Molyneux's latest embarassment. It's a flem-filled bag of fun in today's episode.

We've got a lot of games to cover with such little time (I need to sleep eventually). After talking about my adventure at the pawn shop, Beeb and Blue Map talk about a bunch of games, including Oxenfree (move over, Undertale......?). Somestickguy also joins us partway to talk about Anime! And also cancer. Final Fantasy XIII also gets brought up at length. So basically a whole lot of cancer talk today.

It's the first of a five-part nostalgia bomb, as four slightly mutated adults with varying degrees of martial arts skills band together to talk about the original TMNT cartoon. It may be the most famous adaptation of the Ninja Turtles, but does it still hold up? Gonmun, Qanamil, and DaMoonRulz join me in discussing the various aspects of the 80's classic, from its lack of police officers to its amusing-yet-insensitive portrayal of modern day Japan, to what originally qualified as violence in a children's cartoon to April's....not so kid-friendly attributes. It's the first 2016 episode of the South Figaro Podcast....because I say so! Fencingsax joins the group after a long hiatus to listen to me talk about Lightning Returns and how it's not a complete affront to the senses or RPGs in general. Beeb and Blue Map also talk Pokemon for a similarly long time. Kingdom Hearts, Life is Strange, movies vs videogames, and all sorts of other topics are brought up in this recording, so start the new year fresh and two weeks late!
