It's the landmark 50th episode of the South Figaro Podcast! We began this podcast talking about Final Fantasy XV, it's only fair we celebrate the anniversary of South Figaro by talking about Final Fantasy XV....too bad it's not under more favorable circumstances. Vagrant Winds sighs heavily along with me over the unbelievably poor showing of FFXV at this year's Gamescom, while also pondering just how much of this is the fault of director Hajime Tabata and what needs to be done in order to turn things around in the game's troubled marketing (as if its development woes weren't bad enough).

For our tenth Anime episode, Sticks decides to take up hosting duties as he offers his thoughts on the Madoka Magica series (spoilers for the whole dang thing!), which I happily add to the conversation for the third time yet in this podcast. There's been a healthy surge of JRPG news this week, but before we get in on that we discuss the SGDQ marathon, the insider dirt on Kojima's departure, the early success of Rising Thunder's alpha, and the widespread reaction over Pixels. Here Comes A New Challenger! Shadowfire joins us for a little bit to talk Final Fantasy Record Keeper before fatherly duties prematurely pull him away. We cover the rest of the podcast with EVO 2015, SGDQ 2015, our thoughts on the Batman v Superman and Suicide Squad trailers, the resurgance of 90's cartoons (both in leaked VHS and kickstarter forms) and more. Sticks is back to give his thoughts on the closing episodes of JoJo and Fate/Stay Night while also doing a ludicriously easy job selling me on Blood Blockade Battlefront. I struggle a bit more to convicne him on giving Punch-Line a shot, while also sharing my purist-fueled opinions on the new live action adaptation of Death Note. It may be an anime-centric recording, but we also take time to delve into videogames, including his thoughts on E3 as well as which of the Tales Of games are worth diving into (and which should be ignored).

In this week's four-man discussion, we praise the gorgeous visuals of Ori and the Blind Forest and the storytelling of Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward while also ranting about spoileriffic movie trailers and emotionally manipulative openings. Also Frank Miller, because Comic Con is a thing happening and that guy really needs to be put in a cage.

While most of the gang goes off to do dumb things like keeping jobs and visiting family, Fencingsax and VagrantWinds join me for a chill episode where any topic is welcome....until someone brings up Final Fantasy VII. Then it becomes just that for a while. Also some Digimon, because why not?

After little rest between E3, Heavensward and Batman: Arkham Knight, these neck-and-neck releases are enough to drive me batty. We shake off the remnants of E3 while talking about the latest release of Arkham Knight, discussing the good (graphics!), the bad (PC port!) and the questionable (the Batmobile and....Batman?). Afterward, Blue Map takes a page from my FFVII book and gushes endlessly about the new characters and gameplay refinements of Devil May Cry 4: Special Edition while TDOT recalls his repressed memories of the game that destroyed his innocence...while talking about the game that may have restored it.

You'd think after a five-and-a-half hour E3 video I would be dead tired, but who could rest when there's so much speculation over the recently announced Final Fantasy VII Remake? Dark Raven X, Adus and Stilts join me in a (thankfully shorter) hour-long back-and-forth where we discuss what we know so far, what we've heard so far, and what iconic moments we hope make their way back into the remake...and what should be left out. Enjoy the first of what will undoubtedly be many discussions about the single most-desired remake of all time. Whether the finished product turns out to be brilliant or disappointing, the next couple of years are going to be fun to think about.

If the announcement of the Final Fantasy VII Remake didn't kill me, this 5 hour long podcast might just do it. Fencingsax, Blue Map, TDOT, LockedOnTarget and Adus all endure my smugness while we all foolishly cover the entirety of E3 in one sitting. It's the last recording before E3, and we can feel the ground shaking on our feet. That isn't the power trying to come back on, it's the large and ferocious force of anticipation. While I talk hardware upgrades and Final Fantasy patches, Tdot and Blue Map finally explain to me what a "HOTS" is and why I should play it (or not). Other important discussions follow, such as Sonic's sudden Twitter prescence and just how many belts and straps does Berseria's lead require. Halfway through the show, Beeb comes in to talk Jurassic World. This podcast has been 65 million minutes in the making, and now open for your enjoyment.

Somestickguy has been traveling around the world, but makes some time to talk about the globe-trotting, vampire-slaying antics of JoJo and friends while I attempt to reintroduce him to Danmachi (apologies for calling it Danpachi throughout this recording). Fate/Stay Night, Rage of Bahamut and Mad Max (wait, that isn't an anime....or is it?) also get discussed. Dio may have The World, but I have your attention in the latest Anime Spoilercast!

This year's E3 is still a couple of weeks away, but we simply couldn't wait to lay down our predictions and prayers for the big event. How much Halo will Microsoft talk this year...or how little? Will Nintendo finally pull Metroid out of hiatus? Can we got an entire podcast without mentioning The Last Guardian, Final Fantasy VII or Mr Caffeine? We had originally planned to lay back and chill this week, but after a late night FFXIV session went cold, I decided to break the ice with whoever was available. Blue Map and ThatDudeOverThere join me in discussing Konami's cold reception to their increasingly bitter fanbase, The duo talk about their cool co-op experience with Outland, and I lament about having to put my Dualshock 4 PC plans on ice. We have a new guest joining us by the name of Beeb (that's Mr. Beeb to you!), while Fencingsax appears as a no-show until the time it becomes most dramatic (i.e. the last third). Listen in as we conform pathetically to the latest trends, including The Witcher III and Mad Max: Fury Road. Also complaints abound, from Guacamelee's wall-jumps to setting up PS4 controllers on a PC, out-of-print games and season passes.

What a wonderful night to have a podcast. In this episode we talk about our first bit of good news following the Konami Calamity, while simultaneously bashing Konami some more. It's a double kickstarter conversation with Bloodstained and Yooka-Laylee in addition to some other stuff like that new Assassin's Creed game, Tidus' cracking voice and P.T.'s growing popularity thanks to Konami's failed attempts to wipe it from memory. May 8th may be my birthday, but today I'll be the one giving you a present: another Anime Spoilercast episode! Somestickguy skips leg day to join me in a mixed discussion while posing various questions like "can you look past the fanservice to find the substance within?", "when does Evangelion get good?", "When will they freaking fight Dio?" and "What the hell is up with Konami?". Also some Marvel talk as well as fitness tips, because we're manly like that. Oh, that's a podcast!

While LockedonTarget enjoys the premiere of Avengers: Age of Ultron (lucky bastard), the usual four members of South Figaro tackle the week's series of unfortunate events. I channel my inner Blue Map about Konami's past, present, and future incompetence, Fencingsax ponders with me about the implications of Square Enix's feedback frenzy with Final Fantasy XV, and TDOT rounds things off with Valve's missteps with paid mods. Attention, companies! Stop being stupid!

The new Mortal Kombat is turning everyone into a glutton for punishment. How much can I tolerate of pop idolo RPG Omega Quintet? Can we embrace the new Star Ocean while ignoring the sins of Tri-Ace's past? Will I be able to listen to TDOT's rants of Free-To-Play games without gushing over the latest footage of the new Dissidia? It's a test of tolerance up until the very end, so dance and dine the night away.

Aside from the Deus Ex reveal, it's been a rather quiet week, so the gang and I spend some time talking about games you should have played by now, movies that I should have watched by now, and a bunch of other stuff. It's a chill episode for a chill week, so chillax with the rest of us inside.
