The Structure of the Bible connects the whole Bible from Genesis to the book of Revelation. Today we explore the first covenant made with Adam, the covenant of creation. May God provide for us insights into our need for a Second Adam, Jesus Christ. What is a covenant? A definition: A covenant is an unchangeable, divinely imposed legal agreement between God and man that stipulates the conditions of their relationship. "The First covenant made with man was a covenant of works, wherein life was promised to Adam; and in him to his posterity, upon condition of perfect and personal obedience." - Westminster Confession of Faith Chapter 7.2 1. Series: The Big Story Luke 24:13-27, 44-49. Luke 24 contains a story about two disciples. This is a remarkable passage on many levels. This passage highlights what can be described as "Gospel spirituality," which is the result of renewal of the heart. 1. The heart revealed as sorrowful. Luke 24:13-24 2. The heart revealed as slow. Colossians 2:1-10 To what end or purpose should we strive for in our lives? Our culture supplies answers to this question and no single uniform answer is readily available. As Christians we often accept or absorb the culture's answers without much thought. In Christianity, Jesus Christ is presented as Lord over everything and this has huge implications in our lives. 1. What everyone has (v.8) 2. What no one thinks or imagines. (v.9) 3. What everyone needs. (v.10)

Colossians 2:1-10 Pastor Todd Capen Today we explore what faith does and how vital it is for the Christian life. Colossians 2:6-7 is the text for today's message. The importance of this text cannot be overstated. As you listen, may you, by faith, access this glorious Lord and find rest, joy, and new obedience. 1.
