The Sabbath is a day set aside by God to acknowledge and celebrate what He has done. This is an eternal thing that God desires for all His children to parake in. In the third letter of John, the apostle encourages an early church leader in the good that he has done to help missionaries proclaim the story of Jesus. Then John encourages his to continue supporting them. Part two of the short letter is a rebuke of someone coming against the teachings of Paul and against those seeking to help missionaries. Finally John encourages the believers to imitate good and not to imitate evil. This sermon is two teachings in one!!! 1) 2 John 7-13-Abide in the teachings and commands of Jesus. This is where protection from those who are coming against Christ lies.  2) The End is Near! (Maybe) God has given His feasts to see the timeline of the events of history related to Jesus. The next feast symbolizes the return of Christ. He is coming back. Love is the foundation of true Christianity. To follow Jesus we must let this love motivate us to obey Him in all of life.
