Christy Blanch is an educator, a comics scholar, a comic book store owner, and a comic book author. She began teaching college level Anthropology classes both in the university and in the correctional education system (aka prison). Taking her love of comic books into the classroom, she is currently finishing her doctorate and teaching subjects, such as gender, using comic books as the textbooks. She is teaching a massive open online course called Social Issues through Comics Books, a free course on canvas.net. She is co-owner of Aw Yeah Comics in Muncie, Indiana and co-writes the comic The Damnation of Charlie Wormwood on which highlights her experiences teaching in prison, and has moderated a panel with Princess Leia herself Carrie Fisher.     On this episode of AGP, I am pleased to welcome video game designer Rob Buchheit to the show. Rob Buchheit (Boo-kite) is co-founder and CEO of Nectar Game Studios, a new videogame studio based out of Cincinnati, Ohio. He has been passionate about videogames since he could hold a controller, and that interest has only increased over time. Rob's passion for game design eventually lead to a Masterâ??s in Game Design and Production from Full Sail University. It was a difficult and exhausting trial-by-fire education, but the friendships and experience he gained there were invaluable. At Full Sail, he worked on three student games and was also chosen for an internship at their User Experience Lab. After graduation, he returned home to Ohio and struggled for months seeking game dev jobs to no avail. It was tempting to give up and find any normal (boring) work then, but fate intervened and he met his co-founder Ben Cassell (aka CohhCarnage on Twitch) and they started collaborating on Project Resurgence together.     On this episode of AGP I welcome Kenny Keen from Midnight Horizon to the show. In 1996 Midnight Horizon Comics was founded by Kenny Keen as a small press comic book company. While honing his skills he made his first attempt at publishing the rough and gritty, action packed SLAYER : One Shot. This was a character that he had created as a child and was done in vein of a lot of indy 90's properties such as The Crow, Razor, and Frank Miller's Batman run. Dark, edgy comics was everywhere back then but the market became flooded with them and Slayer which still had an ameraturish look to it went on hiatis for a bit. Jumping into the small press scene, Kenny then published some of his older Expulse comics and contributing art chores to a few small press comics. He later picked back up on Slayer as a series and also partnered up with Highburn Studios and contributed lettering for several of their comics.     On this episode of AGP, I welcome back comic creator Mark Kidwell. Mark Kidwell is an author and illustrator of dozens of comic books and graphic novels. Primarily working in the horror genre, Mark is the creator of the ongoing Vietnam/Zombie epic '68, Frank Frazettaâ??s Dark Kingdom and the critically acclaimed horror comic BUMP. BUMP has now been expanded and released as a full prose novel. In addition to his graphic work, Mark has designed creature special effects for such industry luminaries as Robert Kurtzman (KNB and Precinct 13 Entertainment), penned original screenplays and provided illustration for numerous fantasy gaming books. The expansion of Bump from comic book mini-series to full prose novel is his first literary release. He is currently hard at work on more.

    On this episode of AGP, I welcome comic creator Dan Johnson to the show. Dan Johnson is a North Carolina native who knew he wanted to create comic books ever since he was seven years old. He began working in the industry by contributing articles to such comics-themed magazines as Alter Ego, Back Issue and Comic Book Marketplace (he has also contributed to such comics-themed and pop culture publications as Filmfax, Hogan's Alley, Monster Memories, Monster News and Scary Monsters Magazine). Danâ??s first graphic novel, Herc and Thor, was published by Antarctic Press in 2006. Shortly after the release of that book, he began writing for Campfire Graphic Novels. His books for that company include adaptations of Robinson Crusoe, Oliver Twist and The Jungle Book (which was nominated for a 2011 Comic Con India Award for Best Childrenâ??s Publication) and the original graphic novel, Sinbad: The Legacy. Scott Bachmann is the writer and publisher of Scott Comics, a small press company that publishes comics, novels, illustrated books, and game supplements. Stories range from adult to all ages and from dark to silly. Pretty much anything that Scott gets it in his mind to do he does. His most well known comic is Our Super Mom about a female super hero that retires to raise her family - but finds the hero life never really ends, especially when the kids develop powers of their own. In addition to print, the comic is also runs as a webcomic that updates twice a week. Scott has published short stories in the Pen and Cape super hero anthologies The Good Fight, and The Good Fight: Villains.
