  • ITP: KU beats Texas and West Virginia to reach title game

    16/03/2019 Duración: 01h22min

Texas and West Virginia were Kansas' 24th and 25th victims of the 2018-19 season, as the Jayhawks moved past each to advance to the title game on Saturday night. Their opponent will be Iowa State, who split the two regular season meetings with Kansas this year. We break down keys to Saturday night's championship game, what KU needs to do to win their second straight Big 12 tournament, and what the bracket outlook for all teams Big 12 and around the country looks like. It's the best time of year for basketball, and the Jayhawks figure to once again be in the thick of things.

  • ITP: Big 12 Award Show & Tournament Preview

    14/03/2019 Duración: 01h18min

The Jayhawks closed out their regular season by beating the Baylor Bears at Allen Fieldhouse, completing a perfect home slate in 2018-19. It was a decently uneventful game, but we're ready to recap their final tune-up before postseason play begins. The Big 12 Award Show is here! We break down who won the awards, but more importantly, we tell you who should have won all of the awards. Big 12 Player of the Year Dedric Lawson may have been snubbed in the real awards, but he wasn't snubbed in our award show! We break down the final league standings and talk about who should have brought home the hardware. Up next: the Big 12 tournament in Kansas City! No. 3 Kansas takes on Texas in a Thursday night quarterfinal battle. We make our predictions for both the game and the tournament as a whole, discussing who we think wins the trophy at the Sprint Center.

  • ITP: KU's streak ends after blowout loss to Oklahoma

    08/03/2019 Duración: 01h20min

It was an incredible run, but it had to come to an end at some point. Kansas was officially eliminated from Big 12 title contention after losing to Oklahoma on Tuesday night. The same, familiar problems reared their heads in another blowout loss on the road. What would you do to fix the Jayhawks? They still haven't lost a neutral site or home game yet, but how much can we depend on that heading into March? We talk all about this game, and whether or not it was a "throwaway" contest where everything went wrong. The Big 12 remains bananas, and the Ask RCB questions just keep coming. Senior Day against Baylor remains, and the Jayhawks will take the court without a single senior to celebrate after it was announced that Lagerald Vick will still not return for the contest. Kansas has the opportunity to end the season on a high note. Will they do it?

  • ITP: Rare win in Stillwater keeps Jayhawks one game back

    04/03/2019 Duración: 01h19min

They didn't get much help from anyone else, but the Jayhawks did keep pace in the Big 12 race by beating Oklahoma State in Stillwater on Saturday afternoon. Quentin Grimes led the way with an outburst, while Dedric Lawson paced the team to its third road win of the year. We're ready to talk about how Kansas is still in the league race, and what needs to happen in this final week of Big 12 action for them to secure a piece of a 15th straight conference crown. It may not seem lucky, but until the math says it's impossible, it might not be smart to bet against Bill Self. Up next: a road game in Oklahoma against the Sooners, as the Jayhawks look to keep their road momentum going on Tuesday afternoon. Keys to the game and score predictions are included.

  • ITP: Kansas blasts K-State to stay alive in Big 12 race

    01/03/2019 Duración: 01h16min

They're in the game, but they need to win out! A big home win for Kansas brought them back within one of Kansas State. The defense was sweltering, the atmosphere was fabulous, and the team showed signs of coming to life. Next up is a routine house of horrors, which is the annual trip to Stillwater to take on Oklahoma State. What do the Jayhawks need to do to keep pace in that game? We break it down and offer predictions.

  • ITP: Do or die after KU gets thwacked by Texas Tech

    25/02/2019 Duración: 35min

It was not a fun weekend for Kansas basketball, as the Jayhawks' chances of a Big 12 title were pushed to the brink after getting destroyed in Lubbock against Texas Tech. They absolutely have to win on Monday night against K-State to keep their hopes alive. Will they do it? We preview the game on this solo-ITP.

  • ITP: Biggest two games of the year for Kansas? Coming right up!

    22/02/2019 Duración: 01h18min

We discuss the Big 12 race, preview the game of the weekend in Lubbock, and answer a ton of your questions in an all-preview, full-of-nonsense Inside the Paint podcast.

  • ITP: Streaking Jayhawks pound West Virginia to enter bye week

    18/02/2019 Duración: 01h22min

It was a great weekend for Kansas, who got a blowout win over West Virginia and the gift of a Kansas State loss, bringing them within a half-game of the league lead. It was a dominant performance for KU, who has won three straight games and looks to be entering the home stretch playing their best basketball of the year. There's plenty to talk about as far as college basketball goes, like how ESPN loves Duke and who currently stands as the No. 1 and No. 2 seeds in the NCAA tournament. We talk about the impending March tournament, who the Jayhawks should look to avoid being paired with, and what needs to happen for KU to secure the most important piece of its tournament puzzle: a spot in the Kansas City regional. Of course, the big test comes this weekend, as the Jayhawks need a road win at Texas Tech to really feel good about their odds of securing a 15th straight Big 12 crown. It's a similar position to the one they were in last year, but this time, there's no Devonte' Graham to put the team on his back and

  • ITP: Kansas scores huge road win by surviving TCU on Big Monday

    15/02/2019 Duración: 01h20min

It took every last bench player they had, but the Jayhawks got it done in Ft. Worth on Big Monday. They beat TCU to move to 8-4 in conference play, keeping pace with the first-place Kansas State Wildcats. While keeping the streak may seem like a long shot at this point, we discuss why we think KU will have an excellent chance to repeat as conference champions should they keep up their play like they did on Monday. Coming up next for Kansas is the opportunity for revenge, as the West Virginia Mountaineers come into Allen Fieldhouse on Saturday afternoon. Revenge may be on their minds, but scoring a victory to keep up in the conference race should be the only thing they worry about. We break down the game and preview what to expect. There's also plenty of Valentine's Day chaos and shenanigans that may as well be called "what NOT to do on Valentine's Day."

  • ITP: KU beats Okla St, but big challenges lie ahead

    11/02/2019 Duración: 01h24min

The Jayhawks continue to dominate teams at Allen Fieldhouse, as they beat Oklahoma State by double-digits to move back into second place in the Big 12. Without Lagerald Vick, Kansas found a handful of contributors to keep its offense flowing, including Ochai Agbaji and Dedric Lawson. We break down the win and talk about if this is a blueprint the team can build off of. The real challenge, of course, is getting performances like this on the road. Kansas has a fast turnaround this week, as they travel to TCU to take on a Horned Frogs team that's coming off its best win of the season. Will KU finally be able to buck their road woes and score a big conference win? Considering how well K-State has been playing as of late, they'll need this one. We break it down and discuss whether or not they can finally get off the struggle bus.

  • ITP: Jayhawks lose to K-State to drop to 4th place as frustrations grow

    08/02/2019 Duración: 01h15min

For the first time in four years, Kansas State beat Kansas in a basketball game, and there are tons of takeaways we're ready to discuss. The rivalry. The dunk. The turnovers. The lack of offense. We take the optimistic approach and claim that we both think the Jayhawks will wind up winning the Big 12 and be a force in March, but the questions are rightfully there. KU next returns home to take on Oklahoma State, a team that beat the Jayhawks at Allen Fieldhouse last year. Both teams are short-handed, but we all believe that Kansas will win comfortably. We break down why and discuss keys to getting back on track, as well as why this upcoming week is among the most pivatol stretches for the Jayhawks in the rest of the year NOTE: this podcast was recorded prior to the news that Lagerald Vick has taken a leave from Kansas for personal reasons.

  • ITP: Big Texas Tech win ends bad week for Kansas Athletics

    04/02/2019 Duración: 01h17min

The power of Allen Fieldhouse continues to be outstanding, as Kansas jumped on Texas Tech and took down the Red Raiders in a game that was never close. Despite not having Marcus Garrett, the Jayhawks blew out the Red Raiders behind a stellar offensive showing. Is this team finally starting to round into form? The three-point shot has been freed, so do we think they'll continue to fire with similar results in the future? The Silvio De Sousa verdict is in, and it's not good news for Kansas. We open the show by talking about the whole thing, breaking down what KU can do next.  Looking to break their road curse, Kansas next heads west to Kansas State to take on the Wildcats. It would go a long way in getting the Jayhawks out of their road woes, but it won't be easy to take down the first-place Wildcats. We break down keys to the game and discuss KU's chances of scoring a fourth straight win in Manhattan.

  • ITP: Texas beats Kansas as we wonder who to blame

    01/02/2019 Duración: 01h21min

Bill Self? Lagerald Vick? Quentin Grimes? The NCAA? The Jayhawks are down, and we're all about finding the right person to blame for their struggles.  Kansas still sits in a five-way tie atop the Big 12 in the win column, but after losing to Texas, they're going to need to tune up several areas to keep "The Streak" going. We recap what went wrong and discuss if there's ever been a more disappointing Kansas team, at this point in the season, under Bill Self. It's an enormous two-game stretch for Kansas coming up, as the Jayhawks will face Texas Tech at home on Saturday in a must-win battle. We break down keys to the top-20 showdown at Allen Fieldhouse.

  • ITP: Kentucky beats KU as huge week ahead looms

    28/01/2019 Duración: 01h19min

For the first time since 2015, Kentucky beat Kansas in a basketball game. The Jayhawks' three-game winning streak against the Wildcats ended abruptly behind a poor offensive showing on Saturday. While there isn't much to be discouraged about from the result itself, it's time to wonder if some of KU's biggest problems are ever going to resolve themselves. Reinforcements may be coming, but there are some flaws with this team, and we have mixed opinions on whether or not they can be rectified. The Big 12 did pull out a victory in the conference's annual challenge with the SEC, so we break down each of those games and talk about the challenges that lie ahead for the Jayhawks. Up next for Kansas is a big road game at Texas, as KU has the opportunity to turn around its road fortune and hold serve on first place in the league. These are the sort of games that are going to make or break 15 straight. Will the Jayhawks pull off the win and defeat Shaka Smart for the 8th time in a row?

  • ITP: Vintage Allen Fieldhouse run lifts Kansas past Iowa State

    25/01/2019 Duración: 01h21min

Kansas picked up its best win of the season on Monday night, beating Iowa State behind a classic Allen Fieldhouse run. There are plenty of positives, and we're ready to break it all down with a 30-minute recap of the Big Monday victory. Next up: the Big 12/SEC Challenge, which features Kansas and Kentucky in Lexington. We preview every game of the challenge, which we think will go well for the Big 12.

  • ITP: Chaos atop the league after Kansas loses in Morgantown again

    21/01/2019 Duración: 01h18min

The Jayhawks had their opportunity to gain a stranglehold on the conference, but they collapsed in the closing minutes and lost to West Virginia. Now 2-5 in Morgantown, the WVU Coliseum continued to be a house of horrors for Bill Self's squad, and there are a lot of factors that contributed to the loss. On this episode of the Inside the Paint podcast, we debate whether or not Quentin Grimes should be replaced in the starting lineup, why the offense is hesitant to feed Dedric Lawson from time to time, and who the most likely team to give the Jayhawks problems in their pursuit for 15 straight is. There's plenty of basketball left to be played, but it's clear that Kansas needs to turn a corner if they hope to keep "The Streak" going. It's a quick turnaround for KU, as Iowa State comes to Allen Fieldhouse for Big Monday in the Phog. With revenge on their minds, the Jayhawks will have to do plenty of things better than they did when they were smashed by the Cyclones just two weeks ago. We break down the game and

  • ITP: First-place Jayhawks hold off Texas at the buzzer

    18/01/2019 Duración: 01h24min

Kansas is in first place in the Big 12. In other news, the sun is hot. The Jayhawks defeated Texas, 80-78, in an offensive classic at Allen Fieldhouse. The Big Monday battle propelled KU into first place in the league, as everything else around the conference broke in their favor throughout the week. There are plenty of takeaways from the Jayhawks' victory. Has Lagerald Vick really taken that step forward into being a dependable performer in Big 12 play? How important would getting Silvio De Sousa back be for the Jayhawks, and can we expect that to ever happen? Has this team turned a corner when it comes to three-point shooting? And is there anybody in this conference that can actually challenge Kansas in their quest to win a 15th straight Big 12 championship? Up next for Kansas is a building that has been a house of horrors over the year: the West Virginia Coliseum in Morgantown. As KU goes for its second win in a row up there, the 0-5 Mountaineers prepare for a fight that should leave Jayhawk fans very n

  • ITP: KU scores first road win by beating Baylor

    14/01/2019 Duración: 01h14min

It was an impressive showing from the Jayhawks, who dominated the Bears until losing focus in the final seconds, making the score look closer than the game actually was. The result was a 10th victory in 11 tries against Baylor, as Bill Self continued his dominance over Scott Drew, and the Jayhawks kept pace with Texas Tech towards the top of the Big 12 standings. Led by Lagerald Vick, the team finally shot a decent percentage as a squad on three-point shots. How much dangerous is this team when they're hitting threes? Does Ochai Agbaji deserve to be considered for a starting spot? How much NBA hype does Quentim Grimes garner? Up next for Kansas: a home matchup with the Texas Longhorns on Big Monday. We break down and pick the game, as well as the other enticing matchups around college basketball.

  • ITP: Agbaji stars as Kansas holds off TCU

    11/01/2019 Duración: 01h25min

In one of the most unexpected twists of the season, Ochai Agbaji, fresh off his redshirt being dropped, starred in a 77-68 win for Kansas over TCU. Behind 31 points from Dedric Lawson, the offense had their best effort of conference play thus far, and the rest of the team was able to make enough plays to balance out another rough three-point shooting night. There are plenty of questions we want answered, though. Will the team's 25% mark from three-point range improve, and who are the guys to lean on to get that number to trend upwards? How much should we worry about the team defensively after they struggled to put TCU away? And what are the lineups that Bill Self should look to during the moments when the offense stalls? Saturday is a big opportunity for Kansas, as the Jayhawks seek to grab a win against a team that has already handled Iowa State a loss this week. KU heads to Baylor in search of their first road victory of 2019. We break down keys to the game and the odds Kansas finally gets in the win colu
