  • Bucknuts Morning 5: October 2, 2018

    02/10/2018 Duración: 19min

These are good times for the Buckeyes. Urban Meyer's football team already overcame the biggest obstacle on the schedule. Chris Holtmann's basketball team added another fantastic recruit to the mix. First, the pigskin.  Will Ohio State suffer a similar fate to last season? Meaning: After the huge win over Penn State, will the Buckeyes trip up like they did in Iowa City last season? Duane Long is here to opine on that and several other footballish topics: * Updated vibes on Dwayne Haskins post-White Out? * Do we agree with Pro Football Focus' evaluation of Buckeye linebackers? * The secondary? Halfway there? * What to expect when the Hoosiers come calling this weekend. Spend 5ish with us this a.m., 'Nutters!!! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

  • Bucknuts Morning 5: Oct. 1, 2018

    01/10/2018 Duración: 15min

It is the first day of October, but we are still talking about Ohio State's thrilling 27-26 comeback victory at Penn State Saturday night. The Buckeyes were down by 12 points with 8 minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, but mounted two late touchdown drives to earn the win. There are many things we will remember about this game for a long time, such as Binjimen Victor's 47-yard touchdown reception and the coming-out-party for OSU defensive end Chase Young. Patrick Murphy joins Dave Biddle to discuss all of that, plus: * Ohio State's defensive line is very banged up. Nick Bosa is obviously out until at least November, and now Dre'Mont Jones and Robert Landers are both dinged. * Why doesn't Ohio State utilize QB sneaks in short-yardage situations? • Bucknuts Morning 5: Sept. 28, 2018

    28/09/2018 Duración: 12min

A lot of people got hot and bothered by a graphic that Ohio State released on Thursday that said, in all caps, "SILENCE." It was obviously in reference to quieting Penn State's "white out" Saturday night ... but that did not stop people from expressing all kinds of fake outrage via social media. Jonah Booker joins Dave Biddle for today's show, and let's just say JBook is not amused by the developments yesterday. But the real story is how the Buckeyes will fare against the Nittany Lions, and we get knee deep into discussion about that. Also, will Urban Meyer continue to allow Ryan Day and Kevin Wilson to keep the foot on the pedal offensively? All of that and more on the Friday extravaganza. Learn more about your ad choices. 20/09/2018 Duración: 11min

Urban Meyer is back. No matter what those outside Ohio have to say. Has Meyer's absence hurt Ohio State's recruiting efforts? We bring in 247Sports Director of Recruiting Steve Wiltfong to answer this question. Nobody is more plugged in on the trail and we think Bucknutters will be pleased with what Steve has to say on this topic. 31/08/2018 Duración: 13min

Jeff Wadsworth quit his post on Ohio State's board of trustees because he did not believe Urban Meyer's penalty of three games was long enough. Then Wadsworth proceeded to air dirty laundry to the New York Times on Thursday, and tried to paint OSU and Meyer in a very bad light. This of course does not sit well with us here at Bucknuts. We felt it was a very weak move by a man who was known as a weak "leader" during his time at Ohio State. Jonah Booker joins Dave Biddle to discuss that, plus talk some actual football for most of the show. * What are we most excited to see tomorrow when the Buckeyes kick off the 2018 season against visiting Oregon State? * What will the offensive game-plan and overall offensive scheme for OSU? * How concerned should you be about the offensive line? * What are JBook's prediction for how Ohio State will fare overall this season? The offensive line was always a question mark for Ohio State when talking about the 2018 season. Now just three days from the opener against Oregon State? Well, it is an even bigger concern. The People's Champ, Matt Baxendell, joins Dave Biddle to talk about that, plus: * What about the optimism when analyzing this offensive line? * What are thoughts on the Buckeyes' starting linebackers? * How soon will Tuf Borland really be back in action? * As if this month-long saga couldn't get any stranger, how about Tom Herman giving Brett McMurphy an exclusive one-on-one interview. • Bucknuts Morning 5: July 16, 2018

    16/07/2018 Duración: 16min

It was a huge weekend for Ohio State's men's basketball team as head coach Chris Holtmann and his staff landed 5-star point guard DJ Carton. Why did Carton make such a meteoric rise in the recruiting rankings? And how did the Buckeyes end up getting a commitment from him? What role did a local waterpark play in Carton's recruitment?  Who might be next to join Carton and Alonzo Gaffney in OSU's 2019 class? Perhaps E.J. Liddell? On the football front, what should you expect from Ohio State's wide receivers this season? This might be the deepest, most-veteran group of WRs we can remember in Columbus. How productive will they be? All of that and more with Steve Helwagen and Dave Biddle on the Monday extravaganza. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

This whole Chris Holtmann as basketball coach deal seems to be working out quite well. Ohio State hoops landed its No. 1 target at its biggest need position in point guard D.J. Carton.  What does it mean for the Buckeyes? A whole lot and we get into the details of what is the biggest commitment since D'Angelo Russell. Patrick Murphy joins Dave Biddle for opinions on that, plus: * What is our confidence level in Tate Martell if he is needed to be the Buckeyes' quarterback this season? * What about Matthew Baldwin? We have no doubt at Bucknuts that a daily Big Ten football call-in show on Big Ten Network (yes, taking a page out of Paul Finebaum's book on the SEC Network) would do very well. The question is whether BTN would ever take up such a venture. The People's Champ, Matt Baxendell, joins Dave Biddle for an in-depth discussion about that, plus: * What is a bigger concern for Ohio State entering the 2018 season: Offensive line, or linebackers? * Will Tuf Borland actually play this season? If so, how effective will he be? * Bucknuts readers don't seem worried about Michigan's recruiting efforts in Ohio. But are Buckeye fans ignoring history?
