High Falutin Ski Bums

The end to this ski season was so abrupt, it left almost all skiers yearning for more. Now with covid-19 still running rampant, what is a skier to do to fill the void? Enter the Aero Ski - the low impact, full-body cardio workout that’s just like skiing. Brian picked one of these up and has put together his first impressions about using this new device.

What will the world look like after Coronavirus? What will it be like to ski in great places? We imagine what it will be like if we were to go to some of our favorite ski areas after the ski areas re-open.

Life in quarantine is becoming the new normal. What are you doing with your time? Learning a new skill, binging Netflix, starting a podcast? With all the new social distancing, this app may allow you to connect with new friends without circulating in large crowds. Shall we call it social-selectivity?

As Covid-19 rages on, we're starting to see the trickle down effects of the economic shutdown in the ski & snowboard industry. It's not just the resorts, but all the other people who depend on the resorts that are now being affected. We chat with our new friend Brian Finch, a physical therapist and strength trainer living in Killington, VT, on what it's like in a ski town during the shutdown and how we can do our part to help.

It's so bad, it's prematurely ended the 2019-20 ski and snowboard season, shuttered all sporting events and disrupted the lives of almost everyone in the world. It shan't disrupt the podcast and we've got our friend Hunter Roberts (@hunterthesnowdad) back on the show. We're going to talk about how this affected us and what we can do to stay sane in these trying times

There's nothing better than a ski trip. Oh wait, yes there is, a ski trip with plenty of fresh snow and lots of great people, food and libations. Luckily for Brian, his trip last week was action-packed with all three. Knee injuries. Sadly, they're a part of skiing and snowboarding. Luckily, there are many ways to repair and prevent these injuries so we can keep doing the sports we love at the highest level we can. We're using them and let us tell you, you will feel like a superhero when you put these pants on!

Great artists suffer for their art. Mario was one of those artists last week when he suffered a long 9 hour flight in order to ski the Italian Alps in beautiful Sestriere. Stay tuned to hear more about Mario's adventure and some tips if you want to take your own Italian adventure.

A few weeks ago, Andrea and I were lucky enough to spend a few days up at Sugarbush in Vermont. It was still early season, so not everything was open, but we got lucky with some unexpected snow and had great hosts. We were also in the middle of craft beer nirvana which included multiple trips to Lawson's Finest Liquids. Join us as we recap our trip on the car ride home from Sugarbush.

Being skiing and snowboarders, we sometimes take for granted how lucky we are to be able to participate in this amazing sport. Some folks like, winter4kids.org is taking it a step further and helping to introduce kids the sport that we love who made not have had the opportunity before. One of these good folks is our friend Nelly. She works for winter4kids.org and has been busy preparing for their big event on 2/14, the NorAm Cup.
