Three Essentials to Christian Service
12/01/2020Genesis 35:1-7 - One of the things that God requires of us is to serve Him. The command of Jesus is very clear: "Your attitude must be like my own, for I, the Messiah, did not come to be served, but to serve and to give my life as a ransom for many" (Matthew 20:28 LB). We are not to be served, but to serve. We are to serve God and we are to serve others. Today, we will look at three essentials to Christian service, namely, the Goal of Christian Service, the Power for Christian Service and the Result of Christian Service.

Jesus, Our Prince Of Peace
29/12/2019Isaiah 9:6 - Today we give attention to the fourth of the titles that our Lord was given in Isaiah 9:6, that is, the Prince of Peace. What is the reason for calling Jesus the Prince of Peace? By the title, Prince of Peace, God is affirming Jesus as the only One who is capable of bringing mankind true peace. The word Prince indicates that the Messiah will be a ruler who governs in peace. He will achieve His purposes through methods of peace and carry on His work in a peaceful spirit. What, then, are Jesus’ accomplishments as the Prince of Peace?

His Name is Emmanuel
15/12/2019Matthew 1:23 - It is another Christmas season. A time we celebrate the birth of our Saviour, Jesus Christ. A time, God came to be with us; not sending others, like prophets, priests, kings, and angels to live with us and give us His Word; but (God) Himself, the Immortal, coming down to the earth to dwell with helpless and hopeless mortal humans.

Seek Not Great Things For Yourself In Your Quest For Promotion At Work
17/11/2019Psalm 75:6-7 - Promotion at work is a legitimate desire of every human being. There is nothing wrong about wanting to be the head, and not the tail. Unfortunately, the way some people pursue this desire leaves much to be desired. There are those who believe that is by their own power or efforts that they can attain great heights. Such people do not have time for God and their family and can be described as workaholics.
