The first official episode date for this podcast was 4th April, 2016 - I’ve been going for 5 years! At the time of recording I have 30 x self-published books: 16 x psychological thrillers 10 x sci-fi 4 x nonfiction I’ve written more books than that - 9 x versions of nonfiction titles + 3 crazy project titles that I will never reveal ... so 42 if you count those. I’ve made money - however little - from all of them. Here are ten observations and learnings from the 5 years I've been podcasting about my self-publishing journey.

Every oyster comes with a little bit of grit  Don’t put off what you can do now  I’m parking retirement for another 5 years  Don’t be afraid of the unknown - run towards the flames of adventure  Writing is the perfect freedom job  Freedom is the most important metric  Make time to smell the roses  Stuff changes all the time, so roll with the punches  Remember to appreciate what you’ve got right in front of you  Look for the perfect storm of opportunity and grasp it   I will have 2 x special episodes coming up over Christmas and New Year ...
