Michael Robertson is a writer from the UK with several publications to his name, both online and in print. He writes dystopian, sci-fi, and apocalyptic fiction, though predominantly science fiction with a darker edge to it. Michael has written stories of all kinds since his late teens and finally started publishing in 2013 after having a short story accepted by HarperCollins. He’s also had his first three books in the Alpha Plague series produced by Podium – who put together Andy Weir’s The Martian – and we all know how well that turned out! It takes many writers years and years to finally set pen to paper. Author David Robertson has possibly had a more rocky ride than most. David is a former engineer who got his first book published after three shattering life events. This is in spite of being told 10 years ago that he should get an agent for a sci-fi fantasy novel that he started in 2006. However, Leila Dewji is now bringing all of that knowledge to the world of self-publishing, having set up the both Acorn Independent Press and I_AM Self-Publishing with her brother, Ali. Acorn was launched in 2010 and offers a bespoke consultancy for self-publishing projects for authors, agents and media companies who have special/complicated projects. Most people know Richard Madeley for his work with his wife, Judy Finnigan on TV and as part of The Richard & Judy Book Club. He is also the best-selling author of four books. He began his writing career with Fathers and Sons, then followed that up with Some Day I’ll Find You and The Way You Look Tonight. His new book is called The Night Book, a thriller which is set in the Lake District in the long, hot summer of 1976. Mike Bodnar is a former continuity announcer, regional newsreader and TV & radio presenter. He joined Radio New Zealand as an announcer in 1978, then moved into television in the early 80s. His early explorations of publishing were a companion guide to the New Zealand Road Code for new drivers and a co-authored guide to personal security. Mike’s latest book – Against the Current – is the story of how he and his wife left New Zealand for the UK, choosing instead to take a year-long detour through France, living and travelling on a boat. Since then she has worked with around 300 authors and recommends to a stable of 50 literary agents based in the UK, Australia, and the US. In 2014 she was named Publishing Rising Star and is Editorial Consultant for the Authors’ Club at Soho House West Hollywood. Kate Turner is a UK based author who writes as KS Turner. Her debut novel, Before the Gods, was the first from the epic fantasy trilogy, The Chronicles of Fate and Choice. Book Two – Tumultus – is also available with the final story – Time – currently in progress. Kate originally trained as a designer and illustrator and when she isn’t writing, likes to draw, paint, sculpt, study maths, theology and philosophy and play music, among many other things! Andrew Lowe is an author and book editor from the North of England. His writing has been published in several magazines and newspapers, including The Guardian, The Sunday Times and Mens Health. He’s also worked in creative and digital roles with GQ, Vogue, Wired and Total Film. He writes psychological thrillers novels and short stories. His latest novel, The Ghost, is the story of a troubled film critic who finds himself menaced by the victim of a childhood prank.
