The Big Idea: Jesus is not only the Lord of work, but also the Lord of rest. If there is anyone who knows how to rest, it is Jesus. (Ask Him to help you rest!) Outline: For many of us, work will make up a majority of our lifetime. Ideally we should enjoy our work, but often many do not. Matter of fact, some even hate their jobs. So how can we change this? From Ecclesiastes 2:18-26, 4 Stop and Think Moments: 1. No matter how hard you work for earthly rewards, you can’t take it with you when you die! (v.18, 21) Jesus warns us in Parable of Rich Fool. (Luke 12:15-21) Jesus gives us new way of thinking. (Matthew 6:19-21) 2. Stressing about work does no good. (v.23) Don’t worry! Be happy, because God has you covered. (Matthew 6:31-34) 3. Can’t truly enjoy life unless you enjoy God. (v.24-25) Joy comes from God! (John 15:11, Romans 14:17) 4. Conclusion: Pleasing yourself is a dead end! Pleasing God has eternal reward!
