The Questions we dare not ask when it comes to caring for those in need: • What if I am too busy to help someone in need? • What if I don’t have the gift of compassion? • What if the person in need is not starving? (They have a TV at home!) • What if they are ungrateful and entitled? • What if they use their money to feed an addiction? • What if they are in a bad situation because of the poor decisions they made?

How we treat one another can be demonstrated by how we speak to one another. The Book of Proverbs has some wise instructions for us: A. Talk to heal, not hurt. (Proverbs 12:18) B. Talk truth lovingly. (Proverbs18:21a, Ephesians 4:15) C. Talk with discretion. (Proverbs 17:27-28, Proverbs 15:28) To do: 1. Ask for God’s help to discipline your tongue. 2. Affirm someone this week with your words. 3. Optional: Forgive someone who has hurt you by their words.
